How to Engage Baby’s Head in the Pelvis | Positions to Help with Labor and Birth
✅ FREE Mini Birth Class - www.builttobirth.com/free-min...
IS MY BABY HEAD DOWN? HAS MY BABY DROPPED YET? IS MY BABY IN THE RIGHT POSITION? These are common questions and concerns mamas have as they approach birth. In this video, I share several labor positions that teach you how to engage baby head in pelvis so that your pregnancy is more comfortable and labor is more efficient.
Using proper posture, forward leaning, the forward leaning inversion, the pelvic tilt exercise, and hip opening stretches you’ll allow your breech or head down baby to engage well in the pelvis to get ready for birth. I explain how stretching for pregnant women can help provide back pain relief in pregnancy but also help with natural birth preparation and how to prepare for birth.
In this video, you’ll learn back pain relief exercises for pregnancy, how to get your baby to drop naturally, and position for vaginal birth. These exercises are safe as long as your pregnancy is low risk and you do them at the proper time as explained in the video!

I was an RN and I didn't like work. I loved nursing but the smells you deal with as a nurse, argh, it was hard to feel like your're going to puke all day at work and I just could not do some jobs!! In summary: 1) sit straight so baby's spine curves against belly and not your spine. Don't cross your legs. 2) lean forward on a yoga ball on your hands and knees. 3) forward lean inversion off the couch. A sort of downward dog using the couch. 4) Through the hole stretch 5) pelvic tilt or cow position ( don't dip your spine down)

Thank you so much for the tips! I was getting ready for birth and without this video I could not have delivered my baby daughter… I had to do it all without epidural (there was no time as the whole process was just so much quicker than I could have imagined! Gravity is everything, trust your body completely and focus on the breathing: that was my strategy. I am not saying it was not unbelievably painful, because it was, but without the preparation process I would have completely panicked in the moment and not be present.

I wish I had seen this before!! I gave birth for the first time two months ago, in a few hours of labor I was fully dilated but I had to wait a very long time for my baby boy's head to reach the right position... I was severely in pain, (they gave me oxytocin to empower my contractions) and been told I had to wait and there was nothing I could do to help the process, so I was loosing strength and confidence, thought I was lost! 😢 At 7 am my gynecologist said I had three hours to avoid the c section but after a while suddenly everything changed, I was told the head finally went down and luckily at 9.43 my boy Bruno was born ❤️

Why would the gyno put pressure on you with c section in 3 hours?
@girlsix79
@girlsix79 Жыл бұрын
@@teejay5432 they didn't explain that to me, I guess it was because I had been almost 12 hours laboring and my baby could be suffering, or maybe they just needed the operating room for somebody else at a certain point ;) Anyway the pressure worked but I couldn't help tearing very badly and episiotomy too, two years and half later, I'm still uncomfortable with that, it heavily affected my sexual life and my confidence in my body. So I really wish I knew these techniques, even if every birth is different

These are all awesome. I'm 33 weeks and dealing with a babe who likes doing somersaults... Every time I try to find baby's head it's in a different spot. LOL I turned my last one while in labor using the pelvic tilt.. Spinning babies is such a huge help. The 'through the hole' position has been helping my hip pain-I'm too short to sit in any of our chairs with my feet flat on the floor so I sit for awhile, use the birth ball as a chair for awhile... Probably every hour or so I'm changing positions because I'm hurting... Unless my 2 year old needs cuddled. Pro tip, don't do forward leaning aversion with a toddler awake lol. Thanks for the video, somebody else explaining how to do some of these positions is always helpful.

30 weeks here with my 3 rd and baby is back to back. My first was back to back and it was literal hell and then he got stuck where as my second was in perfect position labour was a breeze and out in 2 pushes. Excercise ball helped and I'm tryna find the pose I did off the sofa (I was upside down) but cant find it lol hopefully these ones help me! Good luck ladies ❤

I did the forward leaning inversion last night at 36 weeks and my baby decided to flail around all night. He was the most active we have ever seen him, it was nearly worrisome!

Currently 39wks with my third. First was posterior and horrible birth. Pushed for 3 hours. 2nd was posterior and worked on leaning forward but he stayed posterior right up until I was in labour and he got in the right position just before pushing. Great birth. 3rd baby in posterior once again and have also been working on turning him with no luck. I’m assuming during labour he should turn.

No one brings up the fact that head down isn't the only position that matters! My son has been pushing his spine against mine and it is so painful at times... this has been immensely helpful in helping cope and hopefully if I keep them up he will spin backnaround for birth 🙏

That was the point of this video, leaning FORWARD causes baby to turn with gravity bringing baby's back FORWARD and perfect for burthing easily through the pelvis

Well I never felt it, my doctor just told me after my last check up that the baby has turned. Others feel it, and say you feel some crimping and backpain that could feel like labour. The shape of my tummy changed, and could feel kicks on the upper part which I could feel where the feet.

My youngest did a somersault and sent me into labor at 33 weeks. I work up out of a dead sleep. I know he flipped because I’d had an ultrasound the day before and he was head up. Ultrasound at the hospital to check for issues showed he was head down.

Hi, this comes at a great time! Im 36+6 and just found out that baby is with her head down, but her back is directly below my bellow button (instead of to the left or right) and according to my obgyn this can cause issues during labour and birth. Do you have any experience with this? And will these exercises help baby move back to one side?
