Your teaching abilities are absolutely incredible!! You are the reason I just bought my wife the "Tula Pink Bernina 770" for our anniversary. I don't sew but after watching a lot of your videos...I think I may even give this a try. I hope you will be in South Florida some day just so I can thank you in person! Thank you for all you do!!

I have a very personal comment that you have probably never heard...my 39 y.o. son Ryan took his life 04/26/2019 & after 8 mos. my dear friend got me into appliqués & quilting but my 💔 is still dragging me through life.THEN on a fabric hunting trip, I discovered TULA fabrics! I bought yards & yards without knowing what I would do! Out of that I found the PETAL pillow pattern, but THEN I hit YT to see you & your work . Just LISTENING to you made me smile & be happy...and now, I am hooked on TULA learning new hand sewing tips and oh-sew-happy ideas! YOU change how I see life now...Thank you, TULA...BTW, I am 71,a retired Sp Ed teacher and YOU are an amazing teacher. My latest endeavor is beginning: English paper piecing...Thank you from the bottom of my healing heart❤️

💥this is a flash for me…….i have sewed backwards all my sewing life which is about from 5-76!! It annoyed my teacher dreadfully)the days when children were taught HE in school). My mum tried to get to sew right way round but I just couldn’t do it. I sewed at her knees for years and I remember coming home from nursing, pulling out the little stool, putting some logs on the fire and we wd sit and embroider or hand finish some bias binding or flat and fell seams. Dad wd be . reading, making his gorgeous big, hand cut floor rugs or drawing out something for us to embroider later…..pillowcases for eg. My parents were happy to have me at home for a few days and the three of us lived an idyllic, coastal life. He died when I was 22 and I went on to have mum live with me when my husband and I bought our first home. Mum was a rock to our growing family. So, this sewing lesson has reawakened very happy memories for me. Love, thankyou. …..I’ve recently purchased and mounted a map of USA States and im putting a little flag in each state where I subscribe to. Cd you tell me your State please?

I love the "why" and Tula gives it to us. "Why" I do this in this particular way. My brain likes this type of explanation. BEST tutorials I've ever watched.

Thank you Tula & The Fat Quarter shop for providing us a "Master Quilt Series" on EPP. It was informative, entertaining, & presented in such a way that you actually want to hand sew an entire quilt. 😅 This means so much to me because for over the past 4 yrs I've been a stay at home, 24 hr a day, caregiver to my Mom. I have not been able to attend guild meetings, take classes or go to a show. And usually teachers of Tula's caliber do not give away free classes. Tula, thank you for giving me this gift. I truly appreciate your time.

Tula hit it out of the ballpark again!! Tula is a true teacher because she explains the how and why by her genius reasoning and deep insight of the art. Tula also does it with a flair by inserting her sense of humor. Who couldn’t love her to pieces? I know certainly love her. I have been EEPing for about five years. I have to have a project in my hands while watching TV with the hubby or I’ll fall asleep. It is so therapeutic and relaxing. I will no longer worry about knotting my thread. Talk about shaving seconds off a project!! WOW. I learned a lot on the 3 EEP videos. I had hoped that I could see her stitching her EEP pieces and was just overwhelmed with information!! Looking forward to more of Tula!! Thank you FQS. The filming crew did an excellent job catching everything perfectly.💕💕💕

Ok...did anyone else think there was stuff to learn about thread? Holy cow this series was so much fun. I have machine sewed my pieces 😬🤫, but I plan to hand sew them forever and ever 🤩. If Tula had a series on cleaning the house, I bet mine would become spotless! 😂

Hands down this series has some of the most informative information ever passed along. The epp information is exceptional but there is information anyone doing any hand stitching should know and understand. Thread nap, needle threading, and ergonomic information pop to mind as examples. Very well done. Thank you! ❤️

This has been a fantastic series, full of great humour (public service announcement was priceless). The last video is my favourite because there is so much logic in the way Tula works her magic. It has really made me reconsider doing paper piecing, as it was a little daunting before.

I sew "backwards" too. As I was watching other tutorials, I was thinking... oh no, I'm doing it 'wrong' right from the beginning. Nope, I'm more comfortable with this method. And, now we have reasons why it actually makes more sense. Yay!

Dear girl, I am 77 years old and have just found and watched your 3part tutorial. I crochet and knit and have started quilting this past year. I have sewn for over 60 years and have NEVER sewn toward myself. Would never even think about doing it that way. It's just beyond my comprehension why toward you would be the 'correct' way! This is the first time I've ever heard of this.

TULA and FQS thank you so much for this series on EPP. I have foundation paper pieced for years and I love it. I had never tried EPP and the suggestions for supplies have helped me so much. I did my first start and it came out ok. The next day my special needles came and oh my gracious what a difference. I also love the no knot process. Still need to order smaller Sewtites although the larger ones work for the project I started.

Love your teaching Tula. I am making your Tula Sunrise accidentally! Yep! I saw it was paper pieced and thought, yes, I like to paper piece. No where did it say, that I see, ENGLISH paper pieced! But I love hand quilting and just finished a whole cloth hand stitched queen sized quilt, (yes, it go first place in the quilt show!), so I know how to hand stitch, but this is new to me. Your tutorial makes me confident, so off I go! Thank you again!

I stitch away from myself, too. I am also a massage therapist, so I do have thumb pain from that. So I an still only do about an hour of hand stitching a night. I love your fabrics!!!

I am a newbie here. I have been sewing for many years....but EPP is new to me. I have been trying over and over to join my pieces together and realized that I was using a double strand of thread and you were using a single thread. My stitches were much better and not showing after I figured that out. So glad a friend told me to check your videos!! Now I just need to play catch up on them!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Absolutely Brilliant series! Thank you so so much! Not just a great designer but a great teacher! So much information! Colour, methods, notions! And your piece on ergonomics of hand sewing is absolutely vital! I absolutely love how you go about things, a very reflective process on methodology of craft. I will re-teach myself how to sew with the minimum effort (it seems to be your philosophy here!). It had been some time that I was wanting to learn more about EPP which seems to be quite trendy now. By far one of the best EPP series videos I have found. Tula made the videos easy to understand and took away the intimidation that comes with learning how to hand sew (EPP). She also provided good tips for needle choice, posture and ways of blending thread choice to fabric to name a few. Thank you FQ shop for making it possible!

As a former commercial embroidery operator, sometimes the bobbin thread would show on top. The solution was to use a fine tip Sharpie permanent pen to clean up those areas because once off the hoop, there would be no going back to redo the embroidery.

By far the BEST tutorials I have ever seen on epp. Watching Sue Daley - who I love - had me almost convinced to give it a try. You have completely sold me! I'll start with something small, maybe a bag or a table topper - rather than my usual way of beginning with a king size quilt LOL . But at least I will start! The tip on stripes was one of the best things I've ever seen - no I won't tell anyone! I absolutely love the way you explain the reasons for what you do because of what you've learned. I've been sewing for most of my life - I'm 66_ and never knew about the grain of thread. For me knowing why I'm doing something in a specific way keeps me on track - I won't decide I should try to use 2 yards of thread to keep from threading a needle after listening to you explanations. For now I'm ordering the needles, thread and glue stick based on your recommendations - but I will treat myself to those micro serrated scissors very soon!
