In this video we bring you how to enjoy your present moment from the philosophy of Rumi. Rumi’s work, particularly his collection of mystical poetry known as the "Masnavi”, have had a profound influence on literature, spirituality, and the understanding of the human experience.
So with that in mind, here are 5 ways to enjoy your present moment from the philosophy of Rumi -
01. Free yourself from the burdens of the past and the anxieties of the future
02. Quiet your mind
03. Embrace the beauty of the present moment
04. Be fully engaged in your life’s experiences
05. Cultivate gratitude
I hope you enjoyed watching the video and hope these 5 ways to enjoy your present moment from the philosophy of Rumi will add value to your life.
Sufism began some 9 centuries ago and is focused on reaching the divine - the power that created the skies, the earth, us and life as a whole, through love. It means that in Sufism, we human beings are lovers, the divine is beloved and to love the divine, we need to connect back to the essence of life and understand that we and the world are one. Sufism has given the world some of its brightest minds and poets and one of those people is known as Maulana, Jalāl al-Dīn Muḥammad Rūmī, arguably the best Sufi poet in history. Rumi, a Persian scholar at first, then a Mystic, has written many illustrious poems depicting love and its central role as the bridge to reach the divine; poems that are engraved in the literature books for eternity. His brilliance caught the eyes of people since his childhood. His father, a famous scholar back then, had personally taken the responsibility of teaching him. He deepened his knowledge at a very young age and after the death of his father, he was destined to succeed him as a scholar. But Rumi wanted to learn more, so he connected with another brilliant teacher named Al Tarmithi and a few years later, his teacher left him because he considered that he had nothing left to teach his student, Rumi was now a complete scholar. Rumi was adored by his followers and when he held assemblies, he had a large crowd as attendees. However, life and the divine had other plans for him. In 1244, Rumi encountered Shams Tabrizi, a traveling Sufi dervish who changed his core understanding of life. Rumi became so fond of Shams that he neglected his students and his family and spent days and nights with him, all to grasp the essence of pure love and how to express it to reach the divine. Rumi turned from a Scholar to a Sufi poet who sang for love, danced in circles, which is now called Sufi whirling or the whirling dervish, and wrote poems that are still relevant today continuing to have a deep influence.

Actually KZfaq is never in the present. What you’re doing is watching someone in the past and thinking about how to apply that knowledge in the future. Meditation and focus on breath is the only way to quiet the voice in our heads and thus truly be present. ❤

" The poem by Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi is beautiful, as always. He has spoken only beautiful words. He is one of the most significant poets who are also mystics. That is a rare combination; there are millions of poets in the world and there are a few mystics in the world, but a man who is both is very rare to find. Rumi is a very rare flower. He is as great a poet as he is a mystic. Hence, his poetry is not just poetry, not just a beautiful arrangement of words. It contains immense meaning and points towards the ultimate truth. It is not entertainment, it is enlightenment. Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi, a Sufi mystic, simply made whirling his only method. His followers are called whirling dervishes. They whirl for hours - it is not easy. Jalaluddin Rumi himself whirled for thirty-six hours continuously, and in the whirling he became enlightened because in the whirling he got lost; only whirling remained. There was no one inside. There was utter emptiness and silence. The words of Mevlana Rumi are immensely significant. There have been very few people who have moved and transformed as many hearts as Jalaluddin Rumi. In the world of the Sufis, Mevlana Rumi is the emperor. His words have to be understood not as mere words, but sources of deep silences, echoes of inner and the innermost songs. He is the greatest dancer the world has known. Twelve hundred years have passed since he was alive. His dance is a special kind of dance. It is a kind of whirling, just the way small children whirl; standing on one spot they go on round and round. And perhaps everywhere in the world small children do that and their elders stop them saying, “You will become dizzy, you will fall, you will hurt yourself,” and, “What is the point of doing it?” Jalaluddin Rumi made a meditation of whirling. The meditator goes on whirling for hours - as long as the body allows him; he does not stop on his own. When whirling a moment comes that he sees himself utterly still and silent, a center of the cyclone. Around the center the body is moving, but there is a space which remains unmoved; that is his being. Rumi himself whirled for thirty-six hours continuously and fell, because the body could not whirl anymore. But when he opened his eyes he was another man. Hundreds of people had gathered to see. Many thought he was mad: “What is the point of whirling?” … Nobody can say this is a prayer; nobody can say this is great dance; nobody can say in any way that this has something to do with religion, spirituality…. But after thirty-six hours when they saw Rumi so luminous, so radiant, so new, so fresh - reborn, in a new consciousness, they could not believe their eyes. Hundreds wept in repentance, because they had thought that he was mad. In fact he was sane and they were mad. And down these twelve centuries the stream has continued to be alive. There are very few movements of spiritual growth which have lived so long continuously. There are still hundreds of dervishes. `Dervish’ is the Sufi word for sannyas. You cannot believe it unless you experience, that just by whirling you can know yourself. No austerity is needed, no self-torture is needed, but just an experience of your innermost being and you are transported into another plane of existence from the mortal to the immortal. The darkness disappears and there is just eternal light."

Why is it so hard for me to stay in the present moment ? I know I have a lot of shadow work to do and need to figure my mind out, sometimes it is just so overwhelming. Even listening to this video I just keep finding myself getting lost in my head off either in the past or the future.. anywhere but the present where I belong.. not every day is so hard but more times than not I can’t seem to make myself present and in the moment. It’s like an endless loop of past regrets and anxiety for the future. I feel like I’m wasting my life away inside my head and I’m struggling to get out. Sometimes I have random moments where I DO feel completely present and can hear the magick of the universe around me.. I just wish I could figure out how to keep it.. and I know all the answers are inside, I just keep getting so lost, like I feel like I’m here but I’m not here at the same time. Ahhhh.

Dude... you've put my exact present situation perfectly into words. It's the same shit all the time. I "try" to be present, then when I find myself in my head, I tell myself "dude, just remain present, why do you keep drifting away?" Then I get back into the moment only to lose myself again. I know that they say you have to forgive yourself and just "start again" and simply bring your attention back without criticizing and judging yourself, but after so many restarts I just can't seem to understand why I can't maintain my attention in the present. Before I suspected it's because of overstimulation and over usage of electronics, but even after decreasing their use I still can't be present in the moment. I don't get it and so fed up with the same rummaging over the past and worrying about the future. Like, I can catch myself when I'm in my head, sure, and thats fine. But I just can't sustain it. I'm not in the moment long enough to even be able to experience the magic. I feel like at some point I have to just give up and completely surrender "trying" to be present, but I don't even really know what that means or how to go about it lol.

You have just described my situation and millions of people’s situation right now. Know that on this earth, our purpose is to find something not external but internal. We always look outside for things to occur in order to make our hearts bloom with love. In every mystical path, it says that the love is within and rare are those who find it. When life brings us down to our knees , know that suffering doesn’t last for too long. It’s an up and down journey but in order to remain unaffected, we have to find god. God is not a bearded man sitting up in the sky watching over us. There is no difference between you and god. We are forgetting our real home which is unconditional , unchanging love. Surrender yourself to the will of the universe, start living your life as to how you would live if you found your lover, you have all your desires fulfilled. Put all your faith, love and everything into that. Remind yourself to be your highest loving, compassionate self. Just keep saying thank you god, forgive me god, love you god. Words have power, sooner or later god will come knock at your door. And you will go crazy because you found real love and the truth of this reality. This is a temporary world we live in, just a dream, a play, you are playing an acting role , and your living a life you yourself created. All the pain and pleasure you yourself chose. If you want guidance, escape karma from this life and maybe all the other life’s you brought with you. Talk to the universe, ask for help, humble down and know your not in control.

Arguments against Sufism: 1. SURAH Al-Fatiha ayat 5. "You alone we worship and You Alone we pray for help." -Surah Yunus ayat 18 They worship along with Allah that which does not harm them and does not benefit them. They say, "They are our intercessors before Allah." Say: "Can you tell Allah something in the heavens and on earth that He does not know?". Exalted is He and above those whom you associate with partners. - Surah of the Crowd ayat 3 "Truly, pure faith can be dedicated to Allah alone. And those who have taken other patrons and helpers instead of Him say: "We worship them only so that they will bring us as close to Allah as possible." Allah will judge them on what they disagree on. Indeed, Allah does not guide those who lie and disbelieve." -Crowds ayat 38 If you ask them, "Who created the heavens and the earth?" they will surely say, "Allah." Say, "Have you seen those to whom you are calling instead of Allah? If Allah wants to harm me, will they be able to avert His harm? Or, if He wants to show me mercy, how can they keep His mercy?" Say: "Allah is enough for me. Those who trust in Him alone put their trust in Him." These verses are notable for the fact that modern Sufis appeal to the dead Sheikhs with the same arguments as the Meccan pagans! Namely, the Approach and Intercession before Allah! The Meccan polytheists also recognized Allah as the Creator, but worshipped Him through intermediaries, Idols! Even the order in the Opening Surah in the 5th verse is enough for many not to pray to anyone except Allah Alone, but there are still those who persist in praying to the deceased! 3. Christians and Sufis have one thing in common, manifested in the elevation of deceased people to the rank of Saints, Aulias, close to God! Allah knows better who is his Grateful slave, whereas a person does not have such knowledge and cannot choose Allah's Favorites at will! So how did they know about the position of the deceased before the Almighty and who gave them the right to "Appoint Saints"? 4. Hope, Hope is what Allah says in Surah Ibrahim 11,12 ayat, Crowds 38 ayat! If a person turns to the Dead, does He hope to help them or not? He does not just hope, he believes that the Sheikh can save him or somehow influence salvation... This is what Christians do: they ask for help, ask for salvation not from God but from the Saints and worship "God in the Saints"! The Sufi also trusts in Saints, on Amulets and scrolls of the Koran wrapped in something, on the graves of the righteous... 5. The cult of Saints, the cult of Ancestors, the cult of the dead is what has become widespread in Modern Sufism! Grave graves are visited by their adherents all over the world in search of the graves of the righteous martyrs, they make a pilgrimage to the graves and perform Istigas and Tabarruk through the graves and their inhabitants! This is one of the reasons why they are called grave-worshippers, they perform acts of worship near graves and introduce the practice of worship in cemeteries! The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Allah cursed the Jews (and Christians) for turning the graves of their prophets into places of worship." Hadith al-Bukhari 4443, Muslim 531 6. Sufis and Christians say that a prayer to the deceased is not worship, but just a request, and then they give an example of a request to the Living, supposedly it's the same thing! Firstly, Supplication or Dua is a kind of worship and is intended for Allah Alone, secondly, have you seen a person who does Dua not to Allah!? A person who addresses a Sheikh or a Saint, just like a Muslim addresses Allah! He asks not to save Allah, gives His Object the Capabilities of Allah, the Right of Allah, and then gives as an example a request to help a Neighbor, etc This is Absurd, the Living and the Dead are not equal! Surah the Creator verse 22 The living and the dead are not equal. Indeed, Allah gives hearing to whomever He wills, and you cannot make those who are in the grave hear. 7. Habashism! These are modern Jahmites who, along with other practitioners of Sufism, manage to describe Allah in terms taken from Hinduism! Their description of Allah coincides with the description of Brahma among Hindus and Buddhists. (See Atma Sakshatkara 6-7, 16,29,30, 31,32,47,48 points) Allah is not Above the Throne, Allah is not above the Heavens, not above the Creatures, He has no Image, the denial of the Ascension of the Messiah Isa peace be upon Him, i.e. a direct denial of the Quranic text... To refute Habashism, any of the following verses is enough: Sura 4 ayat 158, Sura Power ayat 16, Sura Fences ayat 143, Sura Sunday ayat 24! 8. Likening Allah to the Created world! If the Habashites say that Allah is nowhere, then among the Sufis there are those who say that Allah is everywhere, literally! A number of Sufis, such as Ibn Arabi, Rumi, Attar, Hallaj identify Allah with the Created world, in their works "The Unity of Being", "The Language of Birds", etc. There are special terms in Sufism for likening Allah to the universe and man, these are: Fana, Hal, Ittihad ! The beliefs of the Sufists of these schools are similar to the beliefs of Hindus and Buddhists, who claim that God is "Everything in Everything" and in fact copy these Pagan beliefs, but using Islamic terms! Allah knows best! All this is present in modern Christianity, in Traditional Pagan beliefs like Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, Shamanism, in the practices of Yogis, etc., but all this is not in Sharia, there is no Messenger of Allah in the Sunnah peace be upon him and the blessing of the Almighty. The greatest danger of Sufism is the endowment of Sheikhs with Divine power and attributes, this is the only thing that is not forgiven by Allah! Surah Women ayat 48!

Do we really need 23+ minutes to explain how to enjoy a present moment ?? - Realize time only exists within mind as a concept. Realize the present moment right now is all there is. Forget what came before and what May come next, and simply be. Violá. Boom! Welcome to the present moment where your perspective for the now is all that matters!

Was Rumi homeless hungry ill in severe bodily pain. Were his children going without food and education. I doubt it. Easy to dish out quotes when youre not in the above positions. Tell those who have had homes lost due to bankers greed and jobs lost or insufficiently paid to make basic ends meet due to shareholder greed

Sufism is not a branch of Islam. Islam is the watered-down popularization of Sufism. Mysticism is spirituality from inside out. Religion is spirituality from outside in. Sufism, Gnosticism and Tantra are spirituality in first person experience. While Islamism, Christianism and Hinduism are a propagation of the experiences of the mystics, by people who only believe they are real (as opposed to having direct experience with them).

@@Sorosh.23 You are right, he was Persian not Turk, maybe we can call him Turkified Persian. But he also hated and betrayed us. There are some sources that he was in love with his mentor (a man). I mean, I wouldn't like him to be an ethnic Turk anyway.
