Great video. Question for ya… I want to do a metallic on my garage floor. I don’t have saw cut control joints. Instead I have the wider tooled joints. I’d rather have a seamless metallic floor so I am looking for a product that I can use to completely fill/over fill my tooled joints and then grind flat with the concrete. @00:38 you are using your “floor patch epoxy gel” to fill that rather wide crack. I’m curious if that would be a good product I could use to fill my tooled control joints? I love your guys stuff. Thanks so very much.

Thanks so much for this tutorial! I have a question. I have a room that is half tile, half cheap vinyl. I want to get rid of the vinyl and put epoxy in its place, but there are no walls or borders between the tile and where I want the epoxy to be. Is there a way to create a form like we'd do when pouring concrete countertops, to create a border that the epoxy won't go past?

Can this be done on a mixed substrate floor? I don't have a concrete floor; it's in a mobile home where part is tiled and part is plywood (call it a subfloor but finished with a temporary clearcoat). Can I use a levelling compound and pour on the exisitng floor (I understand prep you mentioned for tiled areas)? Does this epoxy flex after drying? I'm really interested!

Hoping you get an answer to your question. I have remnants of aspestos tile on old wood floors. Thinking this would be a good way to seal the asbestos and have a nice floor. Concerned about the weight of the epoxy and the sealant though as it will be on the second floor and the house is old. @Stonecoatcountertops, please answer! A tutorial would be great too~

It would be difficult to put grout lines in the epoxy flooring. It's usually a seamless designer look without the grout lines.

This could last for years and years. I've seen a hair shop in town that has this done and their floor still looks steller after a decade of extremely heavy foot traffic and daily chemical exposure.

Yes, you want a good foundation for a good bond. Grind open the 1st layer of concrete then clean the dust. The grinder should remove the paint too.

@@StoneCoatCountertops Thanks for replying! I really liked your videos. I'd love to get some of your products, but my basement floor had some of the old adhesive on it when it was painted and I'm not sure if that would come up with sanding. I just don't want to waste my time or money.

Hi, thanks for checking in! You can go over tile with a few prep steps. 1. rough up the tiles with a 7 or 4 in diamond cup wheel. You can get a dust shroud to eliminate dust in the air. 2. Apply a polymer bonding primer designed for the Level Quick and apply it to the tile and let dry get these products at a hardware store. 3. Mix up and apply the level quick to eliminate the grout, let dry overnight 4 . Apply the moisture seal epoxy primer over the level quick, nice and thin. 1oz. per square foot of floor to cover, apply with a floor squeegee 5. Apply the metallic or dye tinted epoxy flooring midcoat with colors you desire. 6. Apply the Ultimate topcoat in the sheen of your choice. You can use a concrete oil stain cleaner from your local hardware store or Amazon. It's a liquid paste product that pulls the stain up to the surface before you start to grind the floor.
