I imagine Henry pulling up as a cuman and everyone being confused. Then him explaining that he killed one and took his armor. If this game had as much depth and budget as RDR2, then this would probably be a unique cutscene

I spent a while in skalitz training my combat skille to 10+ & getting decent armor from the guards. I also got a halberd before I even talked to father, for the first time in the playline. The good stats, armor, and pole arm made killing that first cuman trivial, mostly they can't defend from slashing attacks from the halberd but use the thrust for some range & safety. After the first guy died, I moved on after taking the really expensive stuff & ran into 4 more cumans further down the path. They weren't too hard to deal with though cause the first 2 fought me 1 on 1 & the last 2 fought me 2 on 1, but I just moved back and to the sides a lot & thruster my halberd, hoping for the best. In the 2v1 the first guy I killed was an archer using his sabre so he actually went down quick, the other was a captain and took wn extra hit to kill. I looted the 4 corpses & saved then went down to save Theresa & those 3 killed me the first time around cause they got right up on & around me really fast & took turns comboing me, so I loaded the save just after the group of 4 & my successful tactic was focusing on the lightest armored one first so there's 1 less person to combo me into Oblivion then back up like crazy so they can't get behind me & wreck them with halberd slashes, these guys on Theresa were a lot stronger than the first 4, so if you don't have a halberd, don't try to kill them, just hit and run. Anyways, after killing & looting those 3 I wanted to see what happens if you try to walk to talmberg. The answer is that the game forces you on Olena & after the cutscene is where my cuman massacre ends, there are 3 mounted archer cumans & if you get off your horse to fight them, 7 or 8 foot soldier cumans spawn behind them & fuck you up, I tried so many times to get far enough away from the foot soldiers that I could kill the cavalry in peace, but when I went 90% of the way to Talmberg & still had 8 cumans on me, I just let them kill me & reloaded the save & just went through the horse part normally. Though I had full mail & padded armor, a cuman helmet & a halberd when I got to Talmberg so that was cool. So for anyone who made it this far, I hope you enjoyed my story!

You can skip that trigger for mounted cuman chase jumping over the wall to the silver ore processing yard (youtu . be/UXF5NvHrIk0). Don't go west/north-west of Skalitz because you'll be oneshot to death with a stray arrow. If you go to crossroads south-east of Skalitz near the place where the chase cutscene normally starts, well -- it will start the chase cutscene. If you go to Talmberg you will trigger the arrival cutscene and quest line continues, but when you return at these crossroads near Skalitz (for example during Homecoming) the game will softlock with black screen. I tried to kill cumans during chase too, haha. I wonder if it's possible after the chase starts to turn back to ore processing yard, then just dismount a horse and get on the roof of the biggest building (it's very convenient place to shoot from), then shoot the pursuers with a bow. You will have to continuously dodge the arrows though...

I didn't know about training skills before fleeing Skalitz, but I did know horseback melee is op, lol. I basically rode Olena back and forth along the path in front of Theresa's house (the mill) swinging at the cumans there until all 8 or so of them were dead (edit: this took several hours, melee from horseback is cheap but not easy). Couldn't do anything about the first guy though, I'm not sure what happened to him or whether he was among those that ended up chasing me around. @koderr Yeah it's possible to kill the cumans chasing you after the cutscene (i.e. when you're fleeing Rovna to Talmberg) with the same horseback melee tactic, though I never did it until they all died - it was just tedious galloping away to get enough distance to kite them rather than face more than 1 at a time, plus iirc you have a bleeding injury which puts a time limit on how long you can screw around. Most of the time the ones on horseback manage to gank you if you try to deal with them, but with luck you can unhorse them (take a swing at their horses lol), after that it's merely how quickly you can chop their heads from horseback without getting unhorsed yourself.

I'm currently playing in 2023 and he straight up seems invincible. I think this got patched because he has no hitbox when you're not locked on.

@@freddym99 There are innumerable games in which you wear different faction items as disguises to make killing easier Fallout New Vegas has a faction disguise mechanic The Hitman games has always had it as a staple Metal Gear Solid 4 has military disguises

@@freddym99 Portraying and allowing the player to do war crimes in game shouldn't be a no-go. These games are supposed to portray reality to some extend and those things happened. Plus having such choices is the best aspect of role playing games. I'm not saying there shouldn't be in game consequenses for these actions, if caught the opponent should become hostile and some NPCs should find this kind of behaviour evil and dishonourable.

Are some of the soldier invincible now on PC? I remember killing them all on xbox, the guy with the cumin king mask cant die and neither can the three by the barn for whatever reason, been smacking them for hours.

Just recently bought this game and came here trying to find a solution. Idk what I'm doing wrong I'm attacking in the same motions as you and everything but I'm still stuck after 30+ attempts. Also I noticed that your game isn't locking onto the cuman but every single time I look towards him it does the auto lock onto him and it makes turning away for another strike nigh impossible.

I killed the first Cuman with a bow, I disguised myself as him, but while going down two more come up and the fight begins even though I am disguised as a Cuman. Was this somehow patched in the game update?

Yeah you now have to start the attack then lock on at the last second and most of the time the Cuman doesn't parry or block and you still do damage. Take a couple of tries but you can still kill him.

@@sebrexgaming2265 True, but its just impractical. I just say pick all the flowers in Skalitz and sell them for a profit before escaping. When you get back to skalitz, there is a small part to the left of the road across a bridge where there are some bandits. Don't engage with them cause you won't have the stats yet, but below the bridge you will find a chest with top tier loot inside. I would never recommend killing the Cuman, to much work for little benefit. They used to be weaklings but with some patch they made them all top tier cumans

@@Destroyer_Of_Rats No, using this method you can't. It doesn't hit the guy, it just goes trough him. I did find another way to get full cuman eq during the start but its buggy.

Just grab the horse and run back and forth killing all cumans in the area. Just be careful if they knock you off you gotta get back on quick or your dead meat.

I did a couple of tests and it still works you just have to start the attack then lock on to the Cuman. Most of the time he doesn't counter you and you still do damage. Takes a bit longer though so might take a couple of tries. Also if you take too long two more Cumans show up and kill you.

If you get on a horse you can actually kill all of the cumans in the area by just galloping and slashing at them. If you do that you can loot all of them to get full mail armor before the game even really starts

@@Richard-jj9bj i'll elaborate on that a bit more, after you did what rico said, place all the itmes you dont want in your inventory under the bridge where there is a corpse located (as a marker in the map) and when you get back to skalitz pick it all up so by the end of the skalitz scene you will be transported to peshek's mill with all the loot
