Need to get pigs again. Had them while kids in FFA. All graduated and out of pigs.

I took FFA when I was in high school, I was a suburban girl at the time and had no idea that one day I would operate a homestead! We love doing pigs, just butchered ours for the year! Thanks for watching!

Very nice! Our first 2 pigs have a processing date of July 3rd so I guess now would be a good time for me to try to guesstimate their current weight. They are definitely over 200 lbs and I still have time to get them to 250+. They get free feed so we shouldn't have any problem getting there. Thanks for sharing!

I do believe you are measuring incorrectly. The girth measurment should be over the heart/chest area not the gut.

Thanks for watching! There are a few different ways to go about measuring the girth, you can measure over the heart/chest or the abdomen. The most accurate would be an average of the two, however by measuring the way we did in the video it correlated closely to the actual weight measured at the time of processing.
