Why not give an example as others do instead of all the explanation, still vague to me, you did not hit the nail on the head

So how do you explain why you left because your work environment had turned toxic? I tried shifting my perspective, talking to my boss, trying various coping methods etc, but in the end, the situation was so bad I quit. My manager's response when I gave notice was "Your quitting too?" It was the best decision and I don't regret it one bit. I've taken the last 5 months to gain my confidence back and get my health under control. As far as a gap on my resume, I'm not worried at all because I've been working a part time job.

In the case of the toxic environment, we suggest, "I worked there for ___ years. I loved the work and learned a lot. Sadly, in the last six months of my employment the environment changed and I realized I wasn't going to be able to continue to learn and grow there as a professional. So, I resigned so they could find someone that was better suited for the new environment. Now, I'm looking for a place where I can apply my skills and really take my career to the next level." - JT

@@sairvinginthestacks that looks ok. But when it comes to the point when she said the work environment changed" here she will be pause and asked again "explaint how it changed"? So is a challenging question to me that is not enought answer to satisfued the interviewer.

@@SB-ms5wd I've been take care of my 88 year old grandmother and had to delay my search until recently. I could see an interviewer asking how it changed now that you brought it up. Honestly, I could simply say it was for health reasons and leave it at that. I wasn't in a good place mentally or physically because of the environment. The caretaking won't be hard to address. I would think most hiring managers understand.

I find most of your videos very helpful however I would have to disagree with you with this one....there are bad employers, bad management and toxic work culture. The video was vague and examples on how to answer the question would have been nice.

content was very good and helpful! I found the going between black/white and color several times to be a bit distracting.

I live in Puerto Rico. Like you told on your video I made research but couldn't find much information. Quit a good job to enter one that offer better thing but at the end did not came true. Was stuck for almost and year until I quit. Know in the interviews they can't stop asking why I quit. The answer is not good for any HR. I tell them that I finish my master and is was time for a career change. Any help will be appreciated.

Took a job with my uncle right after college graduation to get some experience. Turned out to not be a good fit. My interest is marketing and the role was sales and cold calling. Also I was micromanaged. Left without another job to go to and not on the best of terms - despite my efforts to be very professional and positive. This formula will help with how I talk about that experience, but wondering if I even include that job on my resume. I was there for 3 months. I am still looking for my next position, so as of now it’s my most recent job. Thanks!

I would put it on your resume. You can clearly explain why you left:it was a family company, you wanted to give sales a try, but you learned quickly that that was not right for you and wanted to commit full time to finding a job that is in marketing. You don't need to include the micromanaging part.

Customer approached me and asked me who she can complain against my manager that she just spoke with. I told her politely that he is the manager and no one in the store is above him to complain. She says that must be someone else beside him in the store and I said that assistant manager is only person she can speak with. Shortly after manager got angry, called me in his office and fired me. He did not want me there that I can be witness of complaint on him. So because of that I am looking for job and got some interviews that they ask. I dont know what to say. I saw video that says not to say that you were fired. So I said that I left. Any way you say you loose. If you said you were fired, you lose, if you say you left, you lose. Meanwhile the gap in my resume grows. Help! Is it better to say you fired or left the job??? Please advice what to say on job interview in this matter?? What is the best to say?

What can you say. When the company you worked for over 10 years. Lay you off over a gross conduct! When in reality you were just protecting the company from malicious customers trying to get-away from unpaid products! I loved the company so much but, guess that wasn't my department. Now I find it hard getting hire by companies. When being honest.. How do I fix this by getting hire.. And moving on...joyfully.

I had the same thing happen to me after 15 years I was wrongfully terminated and the company never showed up at the unemployment appeal which proves I won my case and was awarded unemployment. It has taken such an emotional toll on me mentally and has depleted my self-esteem now I'm delivering pizzas and don't know what to put on my resume or explain in an interview that I was wrongfully terminated without bashing the company. How would I handle this in a professional setting and explain the situation without bashing the company?
