How to: Export Images for Web and Social Media

Knowing how to Export your images for web and social media can affect the final output of your images. You might have spent hours crafting your images and after exporting you realise they look worse than how they appeared in photoshop.
Well, in this video I show how I go about exporting my images for web and for social media.

I might have overlooked it but did he bring the image resolution to 72 dpi? and then export for web?

May I ask are you still using the Legacy dialogue box instead of the file> export > Export as especially as it is classed as legacy? Just wondering if it is habitual or there is a reason behind it.

Hi man, thanks for your tutorial! But if i've to automatize this export, how i can set the longest side of the photo to be a particular size?If is a portarit or is landscape this matter...and i want to do using an action on hundreds of images...do you know how to do it?! Thanks in advance!

Yes of course! That is what i use today. The longest side of your photo is still 2048

Every time I saved my pics by save for web I didn’t click Embed Color Profile that’s why my pics color look different when I post on Instagram? So I have to click Optimized , Embed Color Profile , and also Convert to sRGB always? Thanks

Yes you have to. But the thing is, when you do it once, it will remember the previous settings so all you have to do is enter the dimensions you want

Thank you for taking the time to do this. Do you know what settings would be best for a professional banner for Facebook and web with text? Every time I've exported banners with text, they have become blurry once uploaded, especially to socials. It's driving me mad. Thanks :)

Some people use PNG 24 any reasons

+Sanjay Dahal PNG files tend to retain a lot more detail in comparison to JPEGs but then also PNG files are heavier than JPEGs if compressed equally. I like the JPEGs cus they have smaller file sizes and retain just enough detail for me.
