Is it really “idolizing”, or is it cherishing the Word and what you have learned while studying the Word? Your knowledge and generosity in sharing your passion and insight is a blessing to so many. Maybe I am wrong, but I don’t see it as idolizing. Please don’t let the criticisms about you, your enthusiasm, or the words you use (I.e., “fold over” vs “dog eared”) change you or make you feel uncomfortable. Please continue to be you and bless you and your husband for sharing your gifts.

I think cherish is a great word in this case. It represents so many hours of work on her part - to lose all those notes would be upsetting, and it reprints her time with and commitment to the Lord and knowing Him more.

I was reading the Bible last night 5:3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven " And these were the first words of the first sermon of Jesus. Literally, he said that those who beg for mercy, those who know they are sinners and beg for salvation, those who understand that they are not perfect (and they will never be) are the people deserving heaven. Thank you, Faith for sharing this. God bless you and your family 🙏♥️

If your Bible is important to you because it helps you draw closer to God then saying you idolize it is like saying you idolize prayer, isn't it? Of course if you idolize your Bible because you have made it pretty or thick or for any other reason, that's another matter. Personally I love my Bible because God speaks to me through it! I love His love letter to me!

As someone who struggles with chronic pain, fatigue, and clinical depression (wow I sound whiney😬)- some days getting in to my Bible feels like a chore (I’m ashamed to admit). But on those days, Watching your videos really helps motivate me. 😊 Your bubbly personality, and your joy and excitement are really contagious, and it helps me remember why I love digging in to God’s Word so much. The joy of the Lord truly is our strength, and even when you are talking about unhappy or confusing things , the joy and love you have for God still shines through. So thank you for what you do. It helps. Have a great day, and God bless!😊

I would use the word ‘value’ vs ‘idolizing’, bc you are not worshipping or glorifying your Bible book but you value your personal Bible book; and all your personal notes and that is all good. P.S. your KZfaq channel has been a blessing in my own personal life and Bible Study. You are Blessed and highly favored by God.

I was one that commented about you idolizing your Bible. I hope I said it in a way that wasn’t too offensive but I just felt like I needed to say it. I watched a coffee and Bible time years ago. Ashley gave her Bible that her grandmother gave her away to a sister who needed one. She said it was so hard to give away and it made her realiZe she was idolizing her Bible. I had never even thought about that before. So I just wanted to mention it. Like you said pray about it and it’s between you and Jesus. Now I feel kind of bad because I never meant to make you feel bad. But your response was so mature in the Lord. I’m a new subbie and I will continue to watch you sister. And trust me, I have my own sins and I hope a brother or sister would point it out if they see it. Anyways all in love, and it made me reflect on myself as well. Thank you!

John 1:14 “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” I love God more than anything, His word is the most cherished, beautiful thing ever. Idolizing would be for an example if a person is fixated on the dollar amount paid for a bible or the leather. The word itself is to be cherished forever and ever.

Hey Faith. I'm a guy who subscribes to your channel and watches a lot of your videos even though I was raised in a complementarian denomination, and would probably still identify as complementarian. I just started researching and praying about this topic seeking to better understand what scriptures teaches about women in ministry. I feel like the verse that is often quoted at the end of 1 Peter 2 is hard to argue against on it's own, but reading all of scripture and seeing the way God has used women throughout makes it harder for me to see it so black and white. And though life experience shouldn't be the primary way we interpret scripture or justify what we believe, I can't deny that there have been, and are, so many strong women of God in my life (like yourself) who have had a major impact on my life through their teaching, accountability, encouragement, example, etc. So while I am still studying and praying, seeking to understand what the Bible teaches about about women in ministry, I find so much value in your videos because they are filled with The Truth. I would rather consume content, regardless of who is speaking, that encourages me, and holds me accountable by reminding me of who God has called me to be, and reminds me that there is grace when I fall short, than be constantly bombarded with all the negativity and evil from the world that we all experience throughout the day.

I just love your humility, and how you handle the critics. Matthew 5:10 -13 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Good heavens...re idolizing your bible: Some folks always find it necessary to rain on another's parade. I saw the joy you had in your bible rebind. That happiness is fine. I love my bible with my notes. My notes represent my desire to know God better and I would hate to lose those notes. It never occurred to me when watching that joyful video about your bible rebind that anyone would consider it idolizing. But at least a great message came out of all of that. You are a gifted teacher.

Last year God asked me to burn my journals. My journals was where I wrestled through things in my life. Its where I recored all the ways Jesus would speak to me, whether song lyrics or verses or sermon notes. They were where I wrote out my prayers to God. It took me a couple months from the time he first asked me because I was afraid I would lose that history. Finally I reached the point where if I waited any longer I realized I would be in disobedience. God assured me that everything I had written down was stored in heaven and that he could always remind me of things. Doing it grew my trust and deepened my relationship with Him.

When we do a piece of art or we go to university and study something we can feel proud of our piece of art, knowledge, work(dissertation) or what ever it is we have been working on. I would be sad if i lost my bible. As a widow, i have spent years of tears in this book. My hilights and markinging are not what makes it special... they are a reminder of The Lords love, grace and mercy over me. Its the instruction to life, how to learn to live again, how to reach for comfort, how to accept, I could go on for days on what it is but I'll end with.... I can't Proverbs 3:3 if I don't cherish the written words of Christ

What I saw from your video of your Bible reveal was your love and passion for the scriptures. That Bible shows all of your hard work and dedication to the Lord and that is something to be excited about. Jesus Himself turned over tables in the temple and did not sin. He says "be angry and sin not," so being angry is not a sin of itself. People seeing Jesus turn those tables over may have been standing in groups whispering "oh He is not sinless look at His actions." That was not the case though. The same way I look at how you unboxed your Bible. There may be those that interpret it as you sinning by idolizing your Bible but that is not case. I love your videos and you bring so much love to the scriptures! You inspired me to start my degree in Bible Theology! I am loving my journey and it all started when I saw a video of you in your kitchen Bible Journaling. You inspire so many! God Bless!

Only you know for sure if you idolize your Bible. What I saw was a person with beautiful emotions for something she treasures. If only we could treasure spending time with our Bible half as much as you. How much more would our lives be enriched? Finding Joy in the word is a good thing. And worry over it is also good. Putting your Bible above God (not what I saw you do) would be idolatry. Some of us simply can’t understand unfettered emotion. We want to understand so we incorrectly tag them with something we do understand. Your emotional response was appropriate, in my opinion. Your humbleness and willingness to accept criticism is beautiful. You know your heart though…as does God.

Thank you for your constant transparency! That takes guts! But, I don't see your Bible as a case of being an "idol". Your Bible is a not only the living, breathing Word of God...it is also a DIARY of a particular and very special season of your life!! Always important we "check ourselves" with having idols, but the Lord knows your heart, and your passion for His Word is reflected with your thoughts, your feelings, your notes....your life!!! And the fact you openly admit you, and myself, can be prideful people, demonstrates your desire to remain humble! You are a treasure...God Bless!!

I think the explanation Faith is looking for at the 18:30 mark is that our SPIRIT is made alive and saved but our flesh is not, this is why when we die our SPIRIT goes to be with the LORD while our bodies remain in the ground. Only on the day of resurrection will our SAVED SPIRIT be reunited with our bodies which will be glorified. 1 Cor 15:50-57. For now our SPIRIT wars against our flesh. I 100% agree we are saved and we are broken. We are sinners saved by grace and we will remain thus until we're glorified. This was the best video I've seen yet. Thank you. Take care.

Oh yea, did the short hair one time and am very possessive of my long hair😁 Maybe “idolizing” your Bible is not ideal, it’s not the worst thing comparatively. Thanks to you and your Bible, I am now getting deeper into my Bible and doing the notes with a fun flaire. Ignore the haters and stay who you are. I love and am envious of your personality. I love your humble heart in this video! People get so offended by comments and don't take responsibility for their own sinfulness. I totally didn't think you were idolizing your Bible. But it's great that you took those comments as a way to repent and change your heart. I also think people hold human beings up too high and start idolizing them. We are all broken humans, and should only look at Christ that way, and I love that you always point to Him, and remind people that you are a human and will mess up. Great podcast episode. :)

I loved your utter honesty in this video/podcast. And I can relate about your bible. I have always had security blankets my whole life...I was Linus as a child! And as I got older, there were things I felt I needed around me. My bible was one of those things. But I don't see it as idolizing it. I read this in Timothy years ago and it made me cry. Paul is in prison and wanted them to bring him some stuff. 2 Timothy 4:13, ESV: When you come, bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas, also the books, and above all the parchments. His cloak would be a comfort to him in prison. And his books and parchments must have meant something if he wanted them, as he said--above all the parchments. Even Jesus was wearing a cloak that was so nice, the guards tossed dice for it. I think God allows us to have things to remind us of Him and His presence in our lives. I mean......they hauled around the tabernacle, Ark of the Covenant and all that stuff all over the wilderness!!! Your bible is like an anchor, a reminder of His Love for you, His presence in your life. That is how I view mine. Your notes, tear stains, smudges are all on those pages and mean alot to you and to the Lord!! I'm old enough to be your grandma, so I'm saying with all my love..........cut yourself some slack. Love your bible and all it's worth to you!! Love You!!

Yes, it is obvious that your Bible is dear to you. I watched that unboxing video and saw the emotion you had regarding your Bible. Some might have viewed it as idolatry, but I would ask you to balance that negative thought with the knowledge that you care so much about your walk with Christ that your Bible and the notes you had written inside it are extremely meaningful to you and you did not want any of that to be erased by its getting lost in the mail. It is a physical reminder of your walk, so to speak, and if it had gotten lost it is true that you would have been heartbroken, but also true that your faith would remain whether that particular Bible was in your life or not. Your faith was not in the box; your faith “memories” were contained in it. Oh, to love Jesus so much that the Bible, His Word, is so dear and holds so much value to you that you were giddy with delight to see it in renewed form! Perhaps there is a fine line in loving something so much that the item, itself, is “worshipped,” in a way, and that is something for all of us to keep in mind. Be encouraged that your love for God is evident.

I have some Bibles that I have bought because of the beautiful cover. I find I read those Bibles more - they have the same words inside - either NIV, ESV, NLT, NASB, NKJV. I have journaling Bibles with verses to colour in. I have ADHD and it affects how I study - every Bible I have read right through is coloured in, written in, underlined, and has notes taped in from start to finish. I love my Bibles simply because they draw me to God, they help me to understand so much more about who I am in relation to God, and just how amazingly faithful He is, and just what He has done for us. BTW, my kids and I all are GF because of Celiac Disease. I am a redeemed sinner - I still say and do things that are sinful. So glad some Christians feel they are not sinners, but I can guarantee you I see enough in the comments to know a lot of Faith’s commentators still sin. There is no love in so many, just Phariseeic condemnation.

I don’t comment on every video you post, but I want to post a comment now and say that I am so grateful that you make your video’s. I enjoy them very much. Sometimes I am reluctant to listen to take notes while listening because I know God wants to teach me something about how to study His Word, something new to learn about His Word or I need to repent of something. Thank you for being honest. Stay honest and keep reminding us viewers. I think the most I get from every video is that I need to stay focussed on the cross and on JESUS saving grace. This video/podcast reminded me how much I need grace, how much I am a sinner. And I notice that my attention slips because I don’t want to hear it.. but I know it’s true and it sparks that longing to know more of Gods Word to see how much I am a sinner and how much I need Jesus!!!!! Thank you Jesus for inspiring faith to keep coming back to you and share what she’s learned about You and Your Word.🎉 ps: love seeing your Bible and getting inspired. Your rebind is amazing. And a great reminder for you to get your heart focus right and repent where needed. A reminder for me to stop idolising material things, which I do allll the time. So help me God, my hair is my security blanket, my Bible is turning into one, so let’s fight our flesh together with God and follow the Spirit!

Actually, Faith, I really love your reaction to getting your Bible back after it was rebound! ❤ It is so convicting because I can see how much you love God's Word and how much you treasure your Bible! It's so precious to me that I teared up and showed my 7 year old daughter your reaction! ❤ I was able to talk with her about how we should be excited like that about God's Word because He is our Creator, our Saviour, our Heavenly Father, who gave us His Word because He loves us! Most importantly, the Bible tells us about the Cross of Christ! ❤

Hey I'm new to your channel, but I wanted to thank you for the humility and your desire to give all of your life to God, and I wanted to thank you for letting us see that. I think that it is so important as a women to be discipling and being taught by mature women. I wanted to edit after watching more of your video. My brother is one who passionately things that Christians shouldn't call themselves sinners. I think part of it is getting stuck on terminology and different people using the same word differently. My brother wants to let Christians to believe that they are no longer enslaved by sins and that they have been made a new creation and don't need to be characterized or self identify primarily as a sinner. I definitely think that the humility and reliance that we need to constantly remind ourselves of is also really important. I say this not as much to correct you but to help you see the other perspective a little bit.

Stuff was hanging out it all it’s beautiful glory. I nicknamed it my crazy bible. I asked the Lord why it was so hard to retire it and he said it was like an old friend ❤. So no I don’t think you idolize your bible. 😇✍🏼 it’s your like your old friend

I admire you for your honesty about idolizing your bible. I think your rebinding video showed your love for God’s word and for God himself and not for the physical, material that is your bible. Your notes hold memories, growth, and your relationship with God! It’s not your bible, it’s the work that God has done through it, in your life, and in your ministry. Our relationship with God is emotional - and that’s normal!

Listening with AirPods and it’s all good, Faith! 😊 I agree, a huge part of my true saving knowledge of Jesus Christ was really understand the depth of my brokenness. I truly understood how I needed Jesus and how I have done NOTHING to place myself into His arms of love and GRACE. I grew up in the church and truly believe I made Jesus my Lord and Savior before I turned 10, but pride grew in my heart over time and I remember telling my now husband when he told me that he is a broken sinner and neeeeeds Jesus, that I wished that I felt that about Jesus. I surprised myself with those words and years later came to see my sin, pride crushed, and need for Jesus, thank the Lord!

We are Humans, Artists and Visionary and I know in our Flesh we do sin in idolatry in loving things in this world. I think as long as we don't put anything above God and we Glorify God in everything we Love he will help us to enjoy it rightfully and not in a way that makes him feel bad. Truly he will tell us to get rid of something if he doesn't approve I have had many convictions to get rid of things that wasn't good for me or him and even if I didn't ask he told me by making my heart heavy enough to throw it away and I would feel light and peace again. God knows Us and God knows what he is doing for Us. I put All My Trust and Life to God in Heaven and Earth 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 I own nothing God owns everything I am just living, learning and enjoying the rollercoaster 🎢

I can't remember who it was, to acknowledge them but I was watching a KZfaq video the other day who was arguing that you should write and journal and keep track of everything in your Bible because your Bible is a canvas of your spiritual life, I thought it was a good analogy. I don't know if it's idolizing or not but i think you could (or should) look at it as you personal lamp (psalm 119:105), it's not the light and would be worthless without the light or the oil but just the vehicle God uses to bring the light into your world.

Love you! Can you tell us why we feel like crying when we pray certain things or when we see certain things or read the Bible?? Is that feeling Gods presence? Sometimes when I’m asking him something or thanking him about something or even when I’ve asked if I should get this book (I was asking him to guide me in finding a book that will help me be a better parent with a strong foundation in him) and I found a book and asked and felt like crying. I hadn't even thought of it like that. Cherish the Word, study the Word, it is our Word from the God we love and worship. I appreciate the balance you are searching for. I have seen some who seem to make their Bibles art projects to show off their artistic talent. But who am I to judge? I assume these people have great artistic talent given by God and they are incorporating it and focusing it on God and His Word. Nothing wrong with that. I have also seen people who collect Bibles as a type of monetary investment. They keep them in their original boxes with the price tags and invoices and would die if a drop of that wonderful cinnamon coffee fell on it. But, again, who am I to judge? Their videos have made me recognize the blessings we have to be able to acquire the Word and to study it, and what a treasure it is. So it's all in the balance. Your way of notetaking and doodling is more like me. I'm not that artistic and I concentrate on the notes versus the "artwork" (which isn't any in my case, LOL). But you give me ideas on how to add notes, sticky notes, tip-ins, etc. I've appreciated your balance. It's what attracted me to your videos. You are real. God bless.

Me personally I don’t think it’s idolizing… I think it is glorifying the word. We have to study to show ourselves approved to God… we take all these notes and deep dive in our academic studies, why wouldn’t we do the same or go beyond to study God’s word? Just my thoughts… ❤ I am learning so much more of God’s word since I started Bible journaling, I get so excited because I am getting closer to God and hearing him speak to me more each day. Sometimes when I’m out and about the smallest or simplest things can bring a scripture to my heart and I’m like thank you Holy Ghost…😊😊😊❤❤❤

“Idolizing”? Ok, y’all, I think a chill pill is in order here. Valuing the resources and knowledge that your Bible has in it isn’t idolatry. You have put a lot of work into those notes; nothing wrong with wanting to keep something safe when you have put a lot of work into it.

God made this world and things in it for us to enjoy, so I think delighting in physical things (like the paper/stationary that makes up your bible) can be good if it’s because it reminds you of Him and the gifts He gives to us. If you start to focus more on the stationary of your bible than on the actual Word inside of it, yes by all means you should take a step back and refocus. But even then, if you’re following God so closely that loving your BIBLE too much is your biggest conviction, I think you’re going to be just fine. 😅💜

Can you really truly idolize anything that is from God that brings us closer to God? I wish I went to Bible school! But I only know what I deeply studied on my own in private Catholic college (not Catholic and surprisingly one of the few reading a Bible during that!) but I thought scripture said idolizing another God as another God. Scripture wouldn’t be idolizing another God or as another God, would it? Those notes bring us closer to Him, they don’t draw us away from Him… unless we use it to do that to us. Such an interesting look on this! Now I need to dive in!

Yeah it is so easy to sin (especially idolising something/someone)! I try not to idolise people I look up to or like (such as celebs/youtubers/Christians etc) but I'm sure I do accidentally idolise them sometimes! I pray Father that you help me, Faith and anyone else with our idolisation and any other sins, help us to remember that we are not under the law and that by your grace and mercy we are forgiven. That we don't need to beat ourselves up about it and just keep trying our best with your guidance. In Jesus' name, Amen.

@@heartonthecross I do love the NKJV, and my favorite bible is a inexpensive little thing, but it is Red Letter and the font is pretty easy for me. It has ZERO margin room.... I may just need to take the jump I think I will contact Crew and Co and see about doing this. There is a similar ESV, but it is not interleaved....
