No you totally can! I have long thin hair and it works 😊 it creates a lot of body and movement and makes it look thicker. Having bangs helps too to create depth.

Trust me think, slick, heavy hair like mine can neither. It doesn’t hold any shape, not even from a salon. So it’s just straight for me

Make sure to do this with a low heat as not to iron your hair completely flat

What would you recommend for people with wavy hair? There will still be frizz and such left unfortunately, but it might work for people with naturally straight hair 🤷‍♀️
@ChrisStuart911
@ChrisStuart911 Жыл бұрын
@@oddball1336 From what I know oil helps to keep the frizz away but it depends on the person cause for me oils have increased frizz (unless I’m using bad oils or smth) so I stopped using it But if you want to achieve a similar look it depends on your texture and how prone it is to heat (flat iron or regular blowout is the best way) but for a heatless method you can put your hair in rollers or flexirods as it’s damp with your regular leave in conditioner (if you use it) and a bit of gel or mousse and leave overnight or longer (I go 2 days since I don’t have a blow dryer) and when it feels mostly dry take it down and only comb it through a bit since you want it to last That’s the best I can think of tho there are probably other methods you can try (sock method, heatless curls using a rod thingy I forgot the name of etc) Hope it helps!

@@oddball1336 with damp hair i've been using the redken anti frizz and then after it's dry / semi styled or styled fully i use the paul mitchell super skinny serum and it's a godsend edit: i would also invest in a good heat protectant, i started using more heat protectant and it's been helping. just spend the money and get good well known products. it's your hair, it deserves the best! one more thing i want to add is practicing technique. make sure to angle the blow dryer DOWN. pretend like you're straightening your hair with a blow dryer. focus on drying the root first because for me, that's where i get the most frizz. u got this! 🫶

@@dwi5582 it’s intentional. If someone wanted a more defined style, you wouldn’t alternate the directions in small sections, which is what breaks up the style into a bouncy, cute bedhead style.

This is a really fun technique I’ve never seen before. Usually I try slipping up the ends of my hair but all I’m the same direction, and it doesn’t give that tousled look. I will try this!

One tip be careful when taking the Velcro rollers out! Grab the hair at the roots and slowly and unwrap the roller. This will stop hair loss from pulling rollers out.😅

For the velcro rollers if you take smaller sections only the width of the roller and not wider they don't get stuck. I learned that from Kayley Melissa and I have not had a problem.

It’s really nice, however you really lost out on some potential volume at your crown. I think if you use a couple more rollers that are smaller you could really get some nice volume in your hair which will give you much more movement and body!

As a kid I had straight hair so would just use a normal hairbrush to comb it outward. Saw my aunt do it and that's where I learned it from. I stopped after I few years because it was boring to do (not the style.. just the whole exercise with the hairbrushing). As I grew older and went to middle school, hair became wavy. Now it's wavy and a curls on its own and I miss my og straight hair. I used to braid my hair in school because if it was long, it was a rule to braid it. Maybe that's what caused it to get wavy?
