What I like to do is if I'm looking for a specific gene is I try to find a monster (that could possess that gene) that can be found in the open world (no den). Once I do that, I fight it and force it to retreat. Then I save before entering the den, grab an egg (if you used the prayer pot for rare eggs, you don't even need the egg to be shiny, but it's preferable) and leave. Then I fast travel back to a village and hatch it. If the doesn't have the gene I'm looking for, I return to the title screen WITHOUT SAVING and reload. This puts me back right after I made the monster retreat. You might have to rinse and repeat a lot. I did this with a Barioth that you can find roaming Loloska Rocky Canyon and I was able to farm 3 Critical Kinship XL genes for my Boltweaver. Doing it this way, I was GUARANTEED a barioth egg because I made the creature retreat.

I know I need to pay attention, but... Velkhana is flying!

If you hit "x" on switch, or whatever the key is on PC, while you're looking at where monsters spawn, it will auto travel there without needing to exit the menu and go to the map. Thanks for all the fantastic videos. Appreciate the helpful info and great content. Love this game!

Stygian zinogre... he was my favorite monstie from the first game, he had full 9 slots dragon and power (which in that game was *quite* an achievement, considering the way heavier rng) and his name was Asrael because it was my Edgar Allan Poe phase

Something that I've learned the other day was that you can use the Nest Search action and you can check the map icons for the type of den they are, be them rare or normal. It don't have such huge scope as flying, but it's an option if you're lazy lmao Also, Stygian Fleabag!

It's actually better to start at the top of the map. The catavan point where you originally came in, because rare dens can spawn along the way and you might miss out on something because you were focused on the central area.

I can't believe that no one pointed this out: You can switch to a monstie with the ability to sniff out monster dens ("Egg Scent"), or another scent monstie with the egg one in your party, and press B to see all of them on your map instantly, so you don't have to check manually.

I don’t know if this is with high rank rare dens or regular because I’ve been trying to get might gene XL in many monsters that are compatible and none of them had it even tho they had the rainbow glow

Hey man question =- I get everything you say in the video but in these rare dens what quality of egg on these rare dens are you getting of the monster that you’re farming ? E.g was looking for a certain gene and farmed a gold den and filled up my hole nest with all silver shine eggs not 1 of them had more than a N of the gene and all I have ever seen is a max of L on eggs dose XL only unlock after Maine story ? P.s I have had 13% eggs on the hole time.

Don't forget pray to get the finding percent up to have higher luck for rarer eggs. Don't return to town or your pray skill will reset.
