I live on a wooded property and have a cat door for My Bengal, he gets fresh raw meat everyday, he hunts, kills and eats birds and squirrels all the time. Of coarse I give him his quality dry food as-well, but he gets most of his nutrition on his own by hunting and having fun. He is happy and very healthy. And when I brought him to the vet, the vet was amazed how healthy and strong he was and asked me what I feed him. So long story short, let your Bengal live and enjoy life and he/she will be fine, too many people are over thinking it. They are survivors!!

Grocery stores have the best food for Bengals. Buy raw chicken and grind it up bone and all. I add lots of organ meat, then lots of water. We gave her good dry food and it almost killed her. Making their food will save lots of money too.

I adopted a black cat from a rescue. I could tell right away she was going to be big. They had her with a foster that was starving her. She was even trying to eat plastic grocery bags. She went from 6.4 lbs to 12.2 lbs in two months of me adopting her. It's quite dangerous to just feed a cat by measurement by the bag, or whatever advice people get. I let them eat what they need. None of my cats are fat. They eat when they want, dry and I give them wet once a day, too and treats. Turns out my black cat, is some sort of Bengal or Bengal mix. I can tell by her size and how much energy she has, and you can see her spots, if you look by her ears. She needs to be walked or she gets in a bad mood. Rescues should be more aware, because these cats are becoming more and more prevalent, I see them constantly in the cat groups and rescue groups. They get one spoon of wet, each, daily, not too much, just a a treat.

It's great to hear that your Bengal seems healthy and that the vet has confirmed her weight is perfect. Every cat is unique and may have different preferences when it comes to food. It's wonderful that you provide her with a good quality dry food and cooked chicken as an evening meal, which she loves. Offering a variety of protein sources like pork and turkey is a great way to provide a balanced diet. Cats can have individual preferences, and it's perfectly normal if she doesn't care for beef or tuna. As long as she's maintaining a healthy weight and enjoying her meals, it sounds like you're doing an excellent job in providing her with the nutrition she needs. Keep up the great work! Bengals we’re not designed to bring down cows. Even if they were hunting as a pack. So the evolution of their digestive system does not have the enzymes to break down beef protein. Rabbit and game birds are far more appropriate.

Sorry for late reply, i explained in latest video what happened. And about your comment, thank you for sharing your experience and providing valuable insights. It's important to be mindful of the fat levels in your Bengal's diet, as certain high-fat foods may not agree with them and can cause illness. Regarding boiling raw chicken, it's recommended to boil it for at least 20 minutes to ensure bacteria are effectively destroyed. This duration helps minimize the risk of bacterial contamination. Thank you for bringing up these points, as they serve as helpful reminders for Bengal owners. If you have any further questions or need more information, feel free to ask.

Are there any raw products that you can buy from the pet stores? I see sometimes they have foods in the fridge. Do you recommend any of those? A brand I can remember is called “instinct Raw”. Thank you!!
@CatVantageStory
@CatVantageStory 2 жыл бұрын
Well some pet shops have "done for you" frozen raw meat, that's correct. But there is no difference (except price) if you buy for example classic chicken breasts at shop and keep it in refrigerator in ice at least 2 days, and that meat in pet shop. But from other perspective actually there is a difference, because you know that you buy fresh raw chicken and you keep it in ice, so you are sure about raw meat quality. Think like cat, when they hunt they never catch served and already prepared food :)

Instinct is one of the better choices. Darwin’s, Answers, and Bones n Co, are also good options. Premade raw food is different than buying chicken breast at the grocery store because it’s a complete meal. Chicken breast is not a complete meal.

Two and a half weeks ago, my then 15 week bengal had an episode of vomiting. 2 ER visits and 3 vet appointments later, he hasn't been the same as he was before. And out of the 4 vets he saw, nobody can tell me what's wrong. I took him off raw, as he seemed to not want it anymore. The RX diet that the vet suggested, he stopped eating. Only thing I can get him to eat right now is Tiki Cat baby. His appetite is minimal; he's not the same as he used to be. He is barely 4.4 lbs. at 17 weeks. He's not gaining, or losing, but I am so frustrated not knowing what's wrong with him. I'm going to take him back to the vet again on Friday for labs. Any food suggestions?

Thank you so much for your kind words and support all the way from Texas! It's great to hear that you've been enjoying my videos and finding them helpful. Regarding your Grey Bear's change in food preferences, it's not uncommon for cats to develop a preference for wet food once they've been introduced to it. If you'd like to incorporate chicken into his diet, that's a fantastic idea! Dehydrating chicken to use as treats can be a healthy and enjoyable option for your feline friend. Just make sure to properly cook and dehydrate the chicken to ensure its safety and avoid any seasonings or additives that may be harmful to cats. As for goats milk, it can be a good option for treats and supplements for your Bengals. It's important to note that not all cats can tolerate dairy products, so it's best to introduce it in small quantities and monitor your cat's reaction. If they enjoy it and it agrees with their digestive system, it can be a nutritious addition to their diet. While I don't have specific videos on homemade treats and toys for cats, it's amazing idea to prepare some in upcoming period! Thank you again for your support, and I'm thrilled to hear that you find my videos enjoyable. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out. Wishing you and Grey Bear many happy and healthy moments together! 🙂 And i am so sorry for late reply, i explained in last video what happened!

We feed our 2 bengals what they like best. Raw ground meat with bonemeal. Cats are not supposed to eat vegetable based diet with cereals and oils. Unless you want some big vets bills.
@CatVantageStory
@CatVantageStory Жыл бұрын
Feeding your cats a diet that aligns with their natural carnivorous needs is indeed important for their overall health. Cats are obligate carnivores and require a diet primarily based on animal protein. Raw ground meat with bonemeal can be a suitable option, as it provides essential nutrients and mimics a more natural diet. It's true that a vegetable-based diet with cereals and oils may not meet their nutritional needs adequately. However, it's important to note that creating a balanced and complete raw diet for cats requires careful consideration and consultation with a veterinarian or a veterinary nutritionist. They can provide guidance on the appropriate ratios of meat, bones, organs, and supplements necessary to ensure all essential nutrients are provided in the correct amounts. While there are risks associated with certain commercial cat foods that contain fillers and low-quality ingredients, it's worth noting that high-quality commercial cat foods can also provide a nutritionally balanced diet. It's crucial to research and choose reputable brands that prioritize quality ingredients and meet recognized nutritional standards. Ultimately, ensuring your cats receive a nutritionally balanced diet is essential for their long-term health and well-being. Consulting with a veterinary professional can help you make informed decisions based on your cats' specific needs and dietary requirements. And i am so sorry for late reply, i explained in last video why we didn't be active last year

I feed small batch pre made frozen raw. What dry food do you recommend?
@CatVantageStory
@CatVantageStory Жыл бұрын
Feeding small batch pre-made frozen raw food is a great choice for your cat's diet. However, if you're looking to incorporate dry cat food into their feeding routine, it's important to choose a high-quality product that complements their nutritional needs. Here are some tips to consider when selecting a dry cat food: Look for a reputable brand: Opt for a dry cat food from a reputable brand that has a history of producing quality pet food. Trusted brands often prioritize sourcing high-quality ingredients and conducting rigorous testing. Read the ingredient list: Check the ingredient list for high-quality protein sources, such as chicken or fish, listed at the top. Avoid foods that contain excessive fillers, by-products, or artificial additives. Consider your cat's life stage and health needs: Choose a dry cat food that is specifically formulated for your cat's life stage (kitten, adult, or senior). If your cat has any specific health concerns, such as allergies or sensitivities, consult with your veterinarian to identify a suitable option. Look for AAFCO approval: Ensure that the dry cat food has undergone feeding trials or meets the nutritional standards set by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO). This ensures the food provides complete and balanced nutrition for your cat. Gradually transition to the new food: When introducing a new dry cat food, it's important to do so gradually. Mix small amounts of the new food with the current food over a period of 7-10 days, gradually increasing the proportion of the new food. This helps your cat adjust to the new diet and minimizes the risk of digestive upset. Remember, every cat is unique, and their dietary needs may vary. If you have specific concerns or questions about your cat's diet, consult with your veterinarian for personalized recommendations based on your cat's individual health and nutritional requirements. And i am so sorry for late reply, i explained in last video what happened.

So many mixed suggestions. Everyone says give kitten dry food (correct portion left out daily) and wet food like 4 time a day. Now im confused
@CatVantageStory
@CatVantageStory Жыл бұрын
I understand how the mixed suggestions can be confusing when it comes to feeding your kitten. The key is to find a balanced approach that meets your kitten's nutritional needs and suits their individual preferences. Here are some general guidelines that can help clarify the situation: Age-appropriate nutrition: Kittens have different dietary requirements compared to adult cats. They need food that is specifically formulated to support their growth and development. Kitten food, whether wet or dry, is designed to provide the necessary nutrients for their optimal health. Wet food vs. dry food: Both wet and dry cat food have their advantages. Wet food contains higher moisture content, which can help ensure your kitten stays well-hydrated. It can be particularly beneficial for kittens who may not drink enough water on their own. Dry food, on the other hand, is convenient and can help promote dental health by supporting healthy chewing and reducing plaque buildup. Some cat owners choose to offer a combination of wet and dry food to provide variety and cater to their kitten's preferences. Feeding frequency and portion control: Kittens generally require more frequent feeding compared to adult cats. It is often recommended to offer small, frequent meals throughout the day. The exact number of meals can vary depending on your kitten's age and individual needs. It's important to follow the feeding guidelines provided by the food manufacturer and consult with your veterinarian for personalized advice. Consulting with your veterinarian: Each kitten is unique, and their nutritional requirements can vary. It's always a good idea to consult with your veterinarian to develop a feeding plan that is tailored to your kitten's specific needs, taking into account factors such as their age, weight, activity level, and overall health. Remember, consistency and balance are key when it comes to your kitten's diet. Ensuring they receive a well-balanced and appropriate diet will contribute to their overall health and well-being. If you have any concerns or questions, don't hesitate to reach out to your veterinarian for professional guidance. And i am so sorry for late reply, i explained in last video what happened.

My bengal allergic to kibbles. So i have been giving him raw meat and/or cook meat. The problem usually cones such as vomiting and diarrhoea when i fed him kibbles ( no matter what brands) and some brands of cat food.
@CatVantageStory
@CatVantageStory Жыл бұрын
It's important to note that every cat is unique and may have individual dietary needs and sensitivities. Allergies or sensitivities to certain types of cat food, including kibbles, can occur in cats, including Bengals. If you have noticed that your Bengal experiences vomiting and diarrhea when fed kibbles or certain brands of cat food, it may be a good idea to consult with a veterinarian. A veterinarian can perform a thorough examination and provide you with specific guidance based on your cat's health history and symptoms. They may recommend conducting allergy testing or trying an elimination diet to identify and manage any potential food allergies or sensitivities. In the meantime, if your Bengal is tolerating raw or cooked meat without experiencing any adverse reactions, it can be a suitable alternative for their diet. However, it's essential to ensure that the diet provides all the necessary nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that your cat requires for optimal health. A veterinarian can help you create a well-balanced and appropriate meal plan for your Bengal based on their specific dietary needs. Remember, seeking professional veterinary advice is crucial in managing your cat's health and dietary concerns. Your veterinarian will provide the best medical guidance to keep your Bengal healthy and thriving. And i am so sorry for late reply, i explained in last video what happened.

Very interesting video, can you then also give them ' boiled eggs ', do they also eat ' meat organs ' and can you bake meat and cool it down for them, then give it to them, say you bake a steak, cool it down, cut it in pieces for them.
@CatVantageStory
@CatVantageStory Жыл бұрын
Yes, you can incorporate boiled eggs into your cat's diet as a source of protein. They can be a nutritious treat or an occasional addition to their regular meals. However, it's important to note that eggs should be cooked thoroughly to eliminate the risk of bacterial contamination, such as salmonella. Meat organs can also be included in your cat's diet, as they provide essential nutrients and are often a natural part of a cat's prey. Examples of meat organs that are safe for cats to consume include liver, kidneys, and hearts. However, it's crucial to feed these organs in moderation and ensure they come from a reputable source to minimize the risk of contamination or excessive nutrient intake. Regarding baking meat for cats, it's generally not necessary to cook meat for them, as cats are obligate carnivores and their digestive systems are designed to process raw meat. Raw meat, such as raw beef or poultry, can provide the necessary nutrients for cats. However, it's crucial to handle raw meat safely to prevent the transmission of bacteria to both you and your cat. If you prefer to cook meat for your cat, it should be cooked thoroughly, without the addition of spices, seasonings, or oils, as these can be harmful to cats. Before making any significant changes to your cat's diet, it's important to consult with a veterinarian or a qualified veterinary nutritionist. They can provide personalized advice based on your cat's specific dietary needs, health conditions, and any potential dietary restrictions. They can guide you in ensuring that your cat's nutritional requirements are met while maintaining a balanced and appropriate diet for their overall health and well-being. And i am so sorry for late reply, i explained in last video what happened.

In Canada, by law all sushi fish that is going to be eaten raw has to be frozen at -20°C for at least 7 days or at -35°C for at least 15 hours. That's to prevent contamination from any parasites or pathogens.

Hey there! I appreciate your concern about cat nutrition and the misconception that all dry food is junk while all wet food is automatically good. It's important to understand that the quality of both dry and wet cat foods can vary. Dry food can be a healthy option if you choose high-quality brands. Look for dry cat foods that have named animal protein sources listed as primary ingredients. These options often have a lower carbohydrate content and prioritize a higher proportion of protein and fat. On the other hand, wet food can indeed offer some benefits. Premium wet cat foods usually contain a higher moisture content, which helps with hydration, especially for cats who don't drink much water. Additionally, they often feature high-quality animal protein sources as primary ingredients, aligning well with a cat's natural diet. However, it's important to note that not all wet food is automatically superior, and mostly is a junk. That's what i said in video,. it's crucial to check the ingredient list and nutritional composition. Look for wet cat foods that prioritize whole meat or named meat sources as primary ingredients, while minimizing additives, artificial ingredients, and excessive fillers. Ultimately, the choice between dry and wet food depends on factors like your cat's preferences, dietary needs, and any specific health considerations. It's always a good idea to consult with a veterinarian to ensure you're selecting the right type and brand of cat food for your Bengal or any other breed. But raw meat is something, as I said in video, what is great choice for cats, I only provide guidance how to make it safe to serve. I am not sure what makes you think as you said. But anyway, remember that providing a balanced diet that includes high-quality wet or dry food, along with potential additions like raw meat, can help meet your cat's nutritional requirements. Each cat is unique, so personalized guidance from a vet will ensure you make the best choices for your furry friend. Hope this helps clarify things for you! 😺

@@CatVantageStory Thank you so much! I agree.. learning the balanced diet will be key.. and having High Quality Premium food whether it's Dry, Wet or Raw is all equally important. Thank you for the clarification for my Bengal! and of course, giving variety and discovering what he likes from a preference and personality perspective will be key also!

should i give my bengal cat tap water or bottle water?
@CatVantageStory
@CatVantageStory Жыл бұрын
It's generally safe to give your Bengal cat tap water unless there are specific concerns about the water quality in your area. Most tap water is treated and considered safe for human consumption, which means it should be fine for your cat as well. However, if you have any doubts about the quality of your tap water or if your cat has a sensitive stomach, you may consider using filtered or bottled water as an alternative. Ultimately, the most important thing is to ensure that your cat stays hydrated, so provide fresh water in a clean bowl and monitor their water intake to ensure they are well-hydrated. And i am so sorry for late reply, i explained in last video what happened.

While feeding cats the same food we buy for ourselves not all Bengals like that food. Mine loves proprietary good quality cat food. I give him small amounts of raw or human cooked food which he enjoys as treats but these will never form his main diet. Furthermore you shouldn't assume the raw diets is the only food Bengals should have, good quality cat foods also have additional vitamins and minerals cats need for their health that they don't obtain from a raw diet or even from cooked meat humans eat. Everything in moderation, moderation in Everything

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences. It's great that you've found a feeding routine that works well for your Bengal cat. Each cat is unique and may have different preferences when it comes to food. While some cats thrive on a raw or cooked food diet, it's important to note that providing a balanced and nutritious diet is key. High-quality commercial cat foods are formulated to meet cats' specific nutritional needs, ensuring they receive essential vitamins and minerals for their overall health. Moderation is indeed important in all aspects of our pets' lives, including their diet. Finding the right balance and incorporating a variety of healthy options, whether it's commercial cat food or small amounts of raw or cooked food as treats, can help ensure their well-being. Thank you for sharing your perspective, and I appreciate your contribution to the discussion. If you have any further questions or insights, feel free to let me know.

Having multiple cats can be a wonderful experience for both the cats and their human companions. Each cat brings its own unique personality and charm to the household, creating a lively and enriching environment. While it's true that owning multiple cats may involve additional expenses, such as food, veterinary care, and toys, the joy and fulfillment they bring are priceless. Ultimately, the decision to have multiple cats or just one is a personal choice based on individual circumstances and preferences. Regardless of the number of cats, the love and care we provide to our feline friends are what truly matters. And i am so sorry for late reply, i explained in last video what happened.

I’m a little confused as to why you would recommend dry food over wet food. The moisture in the food is healthier and it’s usually lower in carbs, higher in protein. Cats have no need for carbs. They are obligate carnivores. I do diy for my 5 cats. All meat from the grocery stores, local farms and butchers. I’ve never cooked their food. Plus, you can’t give cooked bones. Perhaps you should look into cat nutrition requirements a bit more before posting about diet recommendations. No offense at all. I just want all of our pets to live their best lives.

Hi there. Yeah i will agree with you IF i mentioned to give cats bones, but i didn't said that at all. I said clearly raw meat, that means meat without bones. And of course, i put focus on bengals, with a reason. Also, i said that to whoever and wherever you buy food for cat - should read what is in pack. And i didn't mentioned carbs at all, i put focus on food with high level of protein and nutrition value, grain free because most of food is rich with corn and carbs, and that will just make your cat to gain weight, eat a lot, but got zero nutrition value. And last, but not less important - i didn't said DON'T give wet food. I just said don't make your cat get used to it, because once they accept wet food it's hard to make them eat dry food again. I don't understand only why you don't like dry food? It's the best what you can give to your cat, if you choose the right one. And i really think that I don't have to explain why is that. Like we comment on two different videos :)

All dry food is very high in carbs, 30% minimum. Bread, fruits and veggies, are also carbs. Kibble is also the most processed food on the planet and is not what cats would be eating in the wild. The grain free trend is a marketing strategy. Pet food companies took out grains and added legumes. It’s the same amount of carbs. Cats do not have a carb requirement and they are designed to absorb water from moisture rich foods. Canned food is higher in protein and moisture. It’s a good thing if your cat prefers wet over dry because it’s more species appropriate. Lack of moisture in cats diets is why we see so much kidney disease. Raw food is the most appropriate food because it is what cats eat in the wild. They do not kill all the bacteria in the food before they eat it. They generally have a rotation of at least nine different protein sources and consume high amounts of organ meat. I personally rotate between beef, chicken, pork, lamb, rabbit, turkey, qual, and some fish. Plus eggs and multiple other add ins. I feed my cats bones. Raw bones from small animals. It’s excellent for dental health and is their source of calcium and phosphorus. Some good sources for you on KZfaq would be Dr. Karen Becker, Jackson Galaxy, Paws of Prey.

Raw food that they eat in the wild will be better than raw meat from a factory farm. Almost all meat from industrialized facilities contains feces because of their shoddy processing methods. So it will likely contain more harmful bacteria.

It seems like you're expressing confusion about the commenter's statement. They appear to be discussing the various types of food that cats can consume, including both human food and natural prey. Cats have diverse dietary preferences, and while some may enjoy specific types of human food such as chicken, beef, or fish, it's important to provide a balanced and appropriate diet for their nutritional needs. While feral cats may rely on hunting for their food, domesticated cats can be fed a specially formulated diet that meets their specific nutritional requirements. It's essential to consult with a veterinarian to ensure you're providing your cat with a proper and balanced diet that promotes their overall health and well-being. Understanding the dietary needs of cats and providing them with appropriate food choices is crucial for their optimal health.
