Recently LEGO revealed the Marvel Minifigures Series 2, which will be releasing on September 1st. Whilst this series looks great and is highly anticipated by fans, it does face one problem being that they are in the new LEGO blind boxes. As a result, people can no longer feel for the figures they want and will have to end up paying lots more money to get the figures they want. Or do they? In this video, we tackle this issue and how you can actually identify which figure is in the blind box, without having to open them!

I would recommend two ways: 1) Buy the complete collection a little later after the release (it's not that much more expensive) 2) I use this method most often - buy like eight random figures online and then buy the remaining ones (and if I end up having some twice, at least I can do customs).

Yeah; the whole "eco friendly" excuse from lego is bull; we know they can create strong paper bags. I expect retailers to complain about the boxes

I don't care if I get any weird or dirty looks for bringing a mini scale for these mystery boxes, I want a complete collection without getting duplicates. Edit: The Mini Scale wasn't that helpful after all, but I did manage to get the whole collection, so there's that.

I quit buying Marvel sets a long time ago but did get a full set of CMF series 1 just because I could feel the bags. With these boxes I may buy a few for fun but don’t plan to get the full series. If the rumored space based CMF is true, I’ll either buy a case or buy a complete set off of Ebay, depending on how many classic astronauts and new aliens are in the series.

with some you could tell the difference just by sound, like with characters like Mr. Knight you can tell which one he's in just by listening for the sticks, as they would have a lighter rolling sound than the head

2 other possible ways that might work to get the full set is. 1 the way they are originaly shipped could be in order and not random. Or 2 there may be a dot code like there was on the old blind bags to tell them apart

Imagine watching a LEGO minifigure video where the most important part about getting the minifigures is to know what kind of scale to buy. 😂 This is ridiculous. Lego is going to wish they never switched from bags to boxes. They want to protect the world? The world has survived for 4 billion years. Lego blind bags are not going to destroy the world. Just put the minifigures back in the original blind bags and while you're at it put the price back to $3.00

The best method is probably to lightly shake the boxes and listen for the sounds it makes. Like for example if a figure has smaller parts it'll make lighter noises, or if a piece is made from rubber it'll make a different noise entirely

The Lego shop near me in the UK usually sorts the CMF blind bags so that people can buy the one they want, I wonder if they’ll still be able to do this now 🤔 would they be allowed to open boxes? I don’t know

Another method to guess the figure inside is by listening to specific sounds that some pieces make. For example capes come in seperate small carton boxes so you can try to hear that. Or rolling pieces like poles or studs.

If you're lucky enough to get to the LEGO Store when they've opened a fresh pack, try picking out every third box. An employee showed me that trick with series 24 and it actually worked.

Would be nice if Lego put a QR code on the outside of the box , scan and see what’s inside so you don’t have to go in blind . I think they actually did that in one if the first few cmf series

If I'm not mistaken the boxes are sometimes consecutive and there should only be 3 sets per container. This all depends on if they are taken out of the box that is, or shuffled.. I honestly never thought about a mini scale before but I'll have to give it a shot and see if it works. Too bad these are not paper bags, because if they were I would just shine a light through it (or feel it).

There was a video released by a different youtuber who was unboxing the series and on the bottom of the packing there was a 5 digit code. Each character had it's own unique code

👍👍 Perhaps there was a second reason Lego switched to boxes. The "feeling" them way, there were probably a lot of figures, that people didn't want, that were left on the shelves. The box way most people will not use the weight way and purchase those unwanted figures. Lego then sells more. I wonder what Lego will do to counter the weighing them way. James (who doesn't buy any of these by the way) 😁

If a store or mall has an x-ray checkpoint at the entrance, then you could just simply ask a clerk to come with you and use that x-ray machine! (Not every mall in the world would have this, so this won’t work for everyone). One thing that just came to mind was how other CMF series had boxes with 6 packs of minifigures inside, and would this Marvel CMF series even get such a boxed edition?

Lego like many other companies are using cardboard because if they use plastic they now have to pay plastic packaging tax. It's not because they care about the planet. Otherwise they would have always used cardboard or paper bag.

I actually got Kate Bishop on my 1st try and tbh I really like her. Amazing details, a lot of accessories as well. When I held it, it was the heaviest box among the others so I guessed that it could be Wolverine, Mr Knight or Kate bc all of them have such many accessories

Here in Finland have scales in our stores to weigh fruits and vegetables. It's because we charge them based on the weight. I think I'm gonna be using those a lot 😂😂😂

when i got the 6-packs for Series 1, there were no repeats and i got a full set just from buying 2 boxes. i bought a few more 6-packs after that and they also had no repeats

My son wants to try to get 2 complete sets. Would you recommend buying three 6 pack boxes, as well as 18 individual packs (for a total of 36 packs)? Or, just by six 6-pack boxes?

I’m pretty sure the color blue weighs more than the color red bcoz it’s a darker color so will be heavier where as red is a lighter color so will weigh less

For any UK viewers, a lot of toy masters throughout the county remove the figures from their packaging and sell them for the same price. Im just hoping they do the same thing for these blind boxes. If so, im buying a whole collection all at once. Don't get why lego dont use the paper bags that are present in the magazines. They were incredibly durable and still environmentally friendly. Just shows that don't care for the environment and only care for profit. I got so good at minifigure bag feeling that i got a complete collection of muppets and marvel series 1 with no repeats and now im hoping that toy master continue to remove the figures.

This is why Lego needs a competitor, because at this point they do what they want with pricing and content. Megablocks is ok for some Pokemon sets but isnt the same league as Lego. This is gonna be a disaster. Ppl gonna open these in stores and either steal what they want or leave the opened box in the store. Great work Lego. Save money, make more money and take our money even more. I only want the Xmen figures and now i gotta shop online for inflated scalper prices just to get the ones i want. Thanks Lego.

Grab a handful and head over to the fruits and vegetables section to use the scale. Even comes with bags for the ones you want to keep.

This doesn't work. People have tried it with the Mario blind boxes, and the glue used to seal the boxes makes the numbers inconsistent.

The Lego Minifigure boxes are frustrating. You won't know what is in the box and you'll be taking a gamble and you'll end up getting bummed if you don't get the minifigure you want. If you keep the blind bag and if you want to chuck it away, just burn them on a fire or cut them into pieces and put them in a rubbish bag.

Well we don’t know yet, but as soon as I can get my hands on these figures I’ll probably post all the exact weights. For now though I assume that Goliath will be the heaviest, then echo then werewolf by night
