macmost.com/e-1958 When you Mac's hard drive is almost full, you can investigate and figure out what is using the space by simply using the Finder. There is no need to buy a third-party app to manage your hard drive. You start at the top and view all of your folders, digging down to see what is using the most space. Then you'll need to make some decisions about what to remove from yoru drive, being care to only remove files you don't need.

Gary, I never comment on videos but you deserve a massive thank you. my computer storage was always 400 GB+ even when I deleted everything and used an external harddrive. I found your video and the system application files I could never find. i had so many cache files and stuff in the libraries that chrome/computers had made without me knowing. I went from 450 down to 150. This is by far one of the best and most useful videos ever. ty

Thank you so much for this!!! The only video or website to actually work. Also if you aren't getting the size to appear for all of your folders, select the folder you want and choose Get Info. For some reason it work for me. Deleted 350GB!!

Is there a computer table or desk that you would recommend for my iMac 27" + MacBook Pro + other stuff? I am looking for something sturdy with the work surface not too far off the ground.

Sorry, I don't have any recommendations there. That is very subjective. People like different things and have different budgets. Shop around and find one that suits you.

There are really no folders you should delete without knowing -- with deep knowledge -- what the folders are used for and what is in them. If you want to clean out space, stick to looking in your own Documents folder where you created your files and know what each one is.

thank you so much for this! i have a super old 120 GB macbook air and it kept telling me that all my storage was suddenly being taken up by "movies." i guess icloud has been putting all my video files from my ipad (which i edit from) in my photo library on this laptop. so weird since apple keeps notifying me that my icloud storage is full anyway LMAO

Another way and dare I say quicker is go into about this Mac. , apple icon far left top screen click on storage , and it will show you what is taking up the space , if its a large document etc , you will know where to go to find it

Hey I have a doubt, i installed mac os montery on my catalina mac but there wasn't enough space so i had to delete it but somehow i didnt get the taken space back. I had 40 gb before installing and after deleting it i have 30 gb. How can i get that disk space back?
