How to file Income Tax return in France || déclare your Income and get Numéro Fiscale

In today's video you will see how to fill Income Tax returns in France. Once you arrive in France, you should declare your Income, it doesn't matter if you don't work, or do part-time work/ This step is very useful when it comes to apply for PR in FRANCE or taking any type of loan, buying a property, etc.
Income Tax form link: www.impots.gou... /declaration-des-revenus
To find Taxable income, search for Net Fiscal, Net imposable or Salaire imposable.
Three documents to attach with the form:
1. Rental agreement or attestation d'hébergement.
2. Identity document (visa, récépissé, carte de séjour, etc.)
3. Bank Account number (RIB)

Be careful about the last page "Attestation d'hebergement". The section concerns those who are accommodated by someone else. The owner of the accomodation needs to fill it out the section and sign.

Hi! I’m an au pair and am filing taxes for the first time since I’ll be a student for the next few years. I’ve lived a few different places around France during 2023, do I just need to list all of the addresses or do I need to contact my former host families for an attestation d’hébergement even though I’m not living with them anymore?

Yes, you will need to add the new address. There is a section where it asks, address in 2022 and if you changed address in 2023

Hello, thanks for the tutorial. For the attestation d'hebergement, do I have to fill it myself of the administration of my residence? In my case I am staying at a CROUS one, and they gave me their own attestation.

If you earn less than €10,225 then €0 but if you earn more then you need to check the brackets of taxation in French.

Hi just wondered where do you declare interest income on bank accounts; I would imagine we would have to declare this somewhere this even if the amount is very small? Also foreign bank accounts, does that include money transfers (Revolut)? I would not think so because it is not really an account as such, but wondered if you knew. Also do we write down our foreign bank account numbers on the main form somewhere or is this done separately?

If you have worked in France and have a fiscal number, then yes you should pay the tax.

Hi, I am not tax resident in France as i live in UK. I have a second home that i let out for a few weeks last year , income 14K euros. I assume i need to fill in both 2042 and 2042C Pro. As i only want to pay tax on the rental income do i need to fill in the sections on UK pension income? I am taxed in the UK on this and don't really want to get French tax authorities involved on my uk income. Can i leave that part blank?

Hi David, I am not sure about the taxes in this case.

You would not declare UK revenue in France unless you are tax resident in France. You would, however, have to show the UK authorities that you have paid tax in France on your French rental income. You would then get a deduction and be taxed on your global income in the UK. Do double check though and let us know!
