I’ve been working in festival videography and production on and off for a few years and I see the people doing it full time and am always crazy impressed by their skill set, gear, editing speed, and ability to be both invisible and great to party with. It’s a great community service to all the music lovers who can’t physically be there to see the person performing. ✨✨✨ YES to EAR PLUGSSSSS and mebbe some extra deodorant Oh, and be NICE to the people at the door dealing with media! You often see them over and over again if you are coming to a yearly event put on by the same promoter. They can make your life easier! And for girls going into the photo pit: don’t be intimidated if you are new - you belong there too, you got this :)

I enjoyed watching this video. Good job, especially on the color grading. I have done many event videos, but usually at smaller events like a weekend ethnic festival. And those festivals include interviews with people to try and get a sense for why they are there and why it means something to them. I always interview the musicians and ask how they began to play music, what were their first experiences. I realize this is not going to be possible at huge festivals, but many times the festival performers do want to say something on camera. Also you didn’t say anything about the storytelling. I think an event video of four minutes holds much better if you have some personal viewpoints, some statements about the origin of the festival and more about the nature of the music. But this is just my style and my kind of events, I thought I’d share it.

Great video 👍🏼 What are your thoughts of resolution and frame rates? I’ve got the LUMIX S5iix and it’s got a 1.5 crop when shooting 4K 50/60fps. So I’d have to switch to 1080 to get uncropped slow mo. Any advice?

Do you have any tips on how to get clear audio in videos taken at a concert on a smart phone? I want to get good audio quality in videos I take at concerts because in the past all I can hear in the videos I take is bass. I've heard some people say to cover the microphone to help condense the audio
