Thanks for being here. I know your time is valuable, so I'll keep it short. I own a company called 4LC Studios. I do video production (weddings, commercials, and anything else that grabs our attention). This youtube channel and everything I post is about the journey. I love sharing what I'm learning, how I'm growing, and how I'm failing. I hope you'll follow my journey and be a part of the conversation.

I think you will know why you need the three years videography course only when you attended it. Really, you won't even know what you've missed, until you really start learning it. Don't take me wrong, I'm not saying this is a bad "how to" film, it is really a good one in fact, I gave a thumb up. But this film only covered a fraction of what you will need to know when it's your turn to do it. So, you still need that 3 year course + 3 more years experience if you are going run this business.

Ugh, I got instant anxiety from the moment you guys unpacked the trunk. It all came flooding back to me in an instant: the scramble, the panic, the compromised creativity on a nervously ticking clock, that sinking feeling at the end of the day hoping you got that specific moment (and in focus)...you guys are soldiers. Excellent look at how the pros do it!

@@scottmckenna It's still unbelievable how nothing got in between the lens and sensor ruining all footage unknowingly until after post. When the "God system" stops intervening preventing the footage from being ruined, the footage is gone. I assume we can only get lucky so many times. Did you ever clean sensors while on-site?

Really appreciate the insight and showcasing of you interacting with everyone. I feel like with high-stress wedding shoots like this, getting the actual shots isn't as much of a burden as talking to everyone and making sure everyone is on the same page and understands what the plan is. As well as being assertive, but friendly, with everyone and getting everyone together to get the shots that you want and know will make the film better. Great behind the scenes, thank you for making this.

I like how you have a designated "safe" shot. That's not always something that people consider when capturing events, either because they don't think about it, or because they don't want to sacrifice a camera/angle.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I watched it before filming a wedding for my friends, my first time doing anything like that. The behind the scenes really helped me with what to get/bring, what to expect on the day, what shots to think about. I shot much more low-fi than this (iPhone, lenses, gimbal, consumer drone and some small lights) so watching this also helped me know what limitations I would run into and helped me plan how to work around them. Thank you!

This video is great! I'm currently working on learning videography and filmmaking, and would like to get into the wedding video industry. I watched through this entire video, and will definitely be watching it multiple times! So many good tips and bits of information through out, as well as a great look as to how to make your night filming so much better and easier by being nice and respectful to the other professionals you're trying to work with. At the end of the day you're all trying to accomplish the same task, which is to provide a memorable experience and product for the bride and groom, and when everyone works together you can all achieve that goal so much more easily.

big thanks to him, Wedding photography big event, stress, pressure, a lot of list in the mind you have to do with no mistakes, it's not someone sitting behind computer writing comment about what you should do, it's not an easy job, it's not easy to find someone shares with you his work and show you what to do, you get that with experience and many practices, easy to watch but not easy to do it in the first time. it's like doing a film team by yourself, you the actor and the director and the cameraman.

Just randomly started playing after a video I was watching on the DJI mavic 2 Pro.. Now it's almost Midnight and I realized I just watched an hour video, and the final video. Super good man.

This so reminds me of any event I have filmed in the past. Production people are the first ones to arrive and the last to leave. As I will be filming a wedding in a couple months, this was fantastic to watch. Thanks!

Great video, thanks. Two accessories you need ... CrystalSky (much better visibility on bright wedding days) and a landing pad (to protect your equipment from all the gravel/dust).

Thoroughly enjoyed seeing you collab with the photographer. I do both photo and video, and have a second photographer take over photo when we're offering both services. On occasion, a bride who has already booked a photographer brings me on for video. It's a blessing to get to work both sides of the spectrum, because I've been able to tailor my habits and mannerisms to both ensure great shots for me, for the photographer and also guarantee a non-intrusive experience for the couple and guests. If you are a photographer who uses only primes, sits in the front and center of an aisle during a ceremony and you don't care if you're blocking the videographer or guests in order to "get your shot", then you should re-think what you're doing in the wedding business. I coordinate every Ceremony with the photographer (camera placements, where I'd like to be to get my shot and allow them to get theirs, etc.). It baffles my mind the amount of photographers that go "yup, ok, good, sounds great", then block the cameras and shots, or just stand plainly in front of them. Jokes on them, I inform the photographer and couple that we'll be coordinating shots and if they ruin mine, I just show the couple the video and explain that unfortunately the photographer chose to ruin your video, because they simply didn't care or don't have the proper equipment to ensure getting the shot and not ruin my own (ie. the photographers that only shoot prime, because they're sharper - zombies). Primes are for getting ready, photoshoot, all non-speaking portions of the Reception, you need zooms for Ceremony, Toasts and Reception Games people. How many weddings I've booked after a wedding, because a photographer was always in the way and ruining moments and I'm always back capturing it beautifully without interfering is always nice though. People notice these things.
