On the western (and warmer) side of the Canadian Rockies are some hidden gem natural and uncommercialized hot springs. The hot springs I’m covering in this video are the Lussier Hot Springs, Ram Creek Hot Springs and the Fairmont Natural Hot Springs (including a warm waterfall)! Since they're within one hour of each other, you can visit them all in a short road trip.
This video is for entertainment and informational purposes only and provides an overview of what to expect at these 3 natural hot springs in BC, Canada. If you decide to visit - you do so at your own risk. Please obey all signs, and do not enter these areas if/when they are closed. They could be closed at random due to bears in the area, high water, mudslides or other reasons. Please respect the land and don't leave any garbage.

I wanted to thank you for this video. We were staying in Fairmont Hot Springs and because of this video we were able to go to Lussier Hot Springs on the Tuesday after Labor (Labour? 😉} Day and it was fantastic! We would have loved to get to the final spring but did not have the vehicle for it. Great video and thank you again!!

Thank you so much for your amazing videos! We are planning a trip for September 2024 (from Melbourne, Australia) and tossing up between car rental or RV rental for a week from Vancouver through the mountains. Your information has been invaluable….keep ‘em coming 😂xx

Thanks for the beautiful video with a lot of information. Is there a changing facility at the Natural Fairmount Hot Springs? If not, then we may have to purchase a towel poncho for changing in public.

Thank you for this video ! Are these accessible in the winter ?
@alysmalls
@alysmalls Жыл бұрын
Lussier is, but be careful as the slope down to the springs is usually covered in ice. Ram is also accessible, but harder and you need a high clearance vehicle. Fairmont, it sounds like they have moved the overflow after I made this video so I'm not sure anymore

Aly Smalis, you have a nice video here. Good job! Thanks. Over the past few years, I've been doing a silly little project of accumulating places in the US and Canada with questionable pronunciations for outsiders. I just found 3 in BC that you may be able to help me with--Choquette Hot Springs, and up near Kitimat--Gitnadoiks River, and Fochgilttoyees Provincial Parks. Are you familiar with any of them? Thanks. P.S. Unlike Mark below, I'm in Illinois.

Hmm, I'm not familiar with any of those. Sounds like a fun project though!

This is so beautiful, just a shame it's so out of the way for many non-Canadians otherwise I'd love to visit (I'm based in the UK for context).

That is part of the appeal, it is one of the most remote and unknown regions of the Western World, if it was in Europe, it would be as crowded with people as the Alps, with very few wide open spaces and little wildlife, however you have places like Norway, Sweden and Finland which are close to you and not over-crowded. Your statement works in reverse too, a trip to the history, culture and architecture of Europe has been a dream for many in Canada and the USA since jet travel began in the 1960's. In recent years, with the internet showing what is here, this is the first time Western Canada has started to become a major World destination, most of us who live here just hope we can maintain its relaxed, safe, small-town culture and generally pristine natural environment.

Im sorry to say, since the you tube videos came around, Lussier has become crowded, strewn with garbage, candle holders, and people let their dogs in and around the pools!

Exactly. All these "influencers" just make things worse. I first came across Lussier in 2009. Was pristine and secluded. Not anymore..

Oct 22 Update The Fairmont natural hot springs no longer exist. The water has been redirected 100' downstream through a culvert. The old pools are now cold. 'Lussier' remains fabulous Ram Creek is easier to access via Premier park road. Paved for 9 km them rough gravel for 8.9 kilometres. Then 1.4 kilometres bike.

Interesting to see how such a change would be allowed. Very disappointed traveled over 6 hours to go and find as you described. We were there on the 21st of October. Odd to see how they would be allowed to divert a natural water flow.

It was actually run off for the resort pool which so it’s second hand hot spring water.

Just an update for everyone. Fairmont natural hotspring is now blocked off from the general public. Not sure if its permanent.

I've had to pick up garbage and dog shit at these very places. I've stopped going because of the disrespect and the entitlement of the tourists at these places. I am glad I have access to hot springs on private land to enjoy hot springs.
