Hi Matthew...Thanks for this video!...I had a PO300 code, and since it's a random misfire code, it's not all that easy to diagnose correctly...My DOHC has 190K and I had already replaced the coil, plugs, and wires...So remembering that at a stop light one day a few weeks back, the engine instantaneously shut down and came back on, I threw a new (pain in the ass job) Crankshaft position sensor at it...All is well now. I think I'll do the cam sensor too.

My wife's 00 Sable has been running rough for over a year. I replace sensors here and there with little to no improvement. TPS, MAF, Idle Air Control Valve. I've done a tune-up. Fixed vacuum leaks. Still nothing. Latest code reader from Autozone says P0302, aka misfire on cylinder 2. I'm tired of replacing parts. It's all a gamble on what I replace. A diesel mechanic where I work said the crank sensor may be bad but also mentioned the cam sensor. They're both under $20 each.

@Gudog it is my understanding that the 24valve does not have a synchronizer only a cam shaft sensor which is shown here. There is also a crankshaft sensor located behind the right front wheel.

@Matthew -great video thank you! My dad has the same car and his CEL is now on with two codes: P0302 and P0316. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It could have been, I replaced so many little things. The part is so cheap it wouldn't hurt. My main issue was the coil, it worked great when it was warm but would not start/ or just misfire. I did a ton under the hood feel free to ask if you have more questions.

I have same car with same problem. cold starts it runs crapy & Motor shaking like crazy and idling very very low which is confusing because it should be idling high until it warms up then lower down to normal speed especially in the cold weather we get in Michigan. Replaced Cadillac converters due to it being clogged all O2 sensors map sensor EGR valve MAF and TPS also camshaft sensor. new alternator, new battery, spark plug & wires, coil, fuel pump & filters, no vac leaks still replace most vac lines. It even has a new ECM by a shop that said that was the problem and it wasn't so I didn't have to pay for that. Can you help me out by giving me some places i should look at? Anything will help. Thank you.

You don't ''just pull that sucker off''!!!! You'll get soaked with power steering fluid!!!! And have to bleed the air out!!! You should know what you are doing, not GUESSING REPLACING AT CHANCE, BEFORE you make a video, kid.
