You guys asked for it so here it is. Fishing a new lake is always a challenge. Today we gave ourselves 1 day to target walleyes on a lake which we have basically no experience on. We talk about how to find good structure. How to find fish on structure. How to fish for them once you find walleyes. We have been uploading a lot of content lately but this one might have the most information of them all. Its a pretty crude video but should help you next time you are on a new lake. Thanks for watching and let me know what you think.

Boy, I’ve been wanting someone to do a video exactly like this! Such great info, especially on how to run up the edge of the weeds and look on side image for eyes! Please make more of these.

Legit this is the perfect video for us guys who can't get on the water often. From the searching, to the cycling of techniques, and how to get your spots down and what to throw. Thank you for this. It'll help me this late summer when I make my trip up that way.

you guys make one of the top walleye videos. i’ve never fished for walleye but i recently bought a used tracker targa for that reason. i’m trying to acquirer the right gear and i’m almost there. i live in western ny so i’m really needing to go to erie but being by myself i’m tryin to take in as much info as i can so i have a better chance and i like your videos because you explain everything you just dont get on here and say you put this bait on and catch fish. so thanks for the info keep making these.

Were you trolling spinners or just casting and retrieving? How did you get a spinner down to 10-12’ ? Do you front it with a 1 Oz weight and count down ? What ones fo you like? I like big sonic rooster tails for pickerel and walleye and if it’s a grub I’ve always done well on mister twister 3-4” , blood lines, on 1/4 Oz jigs in rivers. I’m on the Susquehanna in Pennsylvania. Lots of smallies

One other thing, if you could add, what time of the year you are fishing and explain why you are targeting the fish at whatever depth you will be. I was wondering in this video why you picked 8-12’ highlight depth and not 28-30’ depth for example.

If the lake has cisco/tulibees or whitefish in it I'd start looking for suspended walleye out over the basin. Look for balls of bait on your electronics the walleye should be close.
@jasonlief351
@jasonlief351 5 жыл бұрын
Yep! MsPrincesspaulina is right on! Deep, clear lakes are tough in the day time. Best bet is trolling cranks over the depths at dusk. The zooplankton start ascending up the water column, the cisco or smelt follow them and the walleyes are there too. If you hit it right, it can be fast and furious!

One other thing about this fishing suspended over the basin pattern, if there's big pike or muskie in the lake you might get those too as well as the walleye

@TomBoley

Many times we run a big spread with line counter, plan or boards and 8 rods. By hand just means we troll with 1 rod. And manipulate the depth as we troll. While holding rod

So today was a great bite on BB spinners for me.. double hook rigs with worms.. but i could use a tip.. my hook up ratio was complete trash. Probably missed 80% they were short bites. Hitting only the back half of the worm behind the hooks. What gives? Next time what should I do about that? Any ideas. Adjustments? Ughhh was sorta getting annoying. Lol caught 8 out of about 25-30 eyes. Ouch.. one keeper at 18in.

@@Dldemenge was trolling super slow almost a drift .8-.9.. no I wasn't dropping back.. I'll try that next time. Was picking up the rod out of the holder pretty quick probably too quick most of the time.. waited like 10 seconds on one bite. Still didn't hook him. Lol they were just biting the tail and like swimming with it. Could try leeche's.. believe it or not.. leeches are almost done for the year. One bait shop said
