Even in a designated fossicking area, one can easily get confused as to where to find the right spot where these elusive gems hide. #Sapphire #Gemhunting #Treasurehunt

Very friendly rainbow lorikeets, beautiful birds. Nice haul for just noodling off the surface.well done.

Thanks for watching Craig. One of the locals who digs to find his sapphires was laughing at me while I was noodling. He said I'll never find any good ones doing this. Then I picked up an eleven carat right in front of him while we were saying our goodbyes....LOL I'm sure he would have scoured the whole area after we left.

Wow just goes to show that there isn't a good amount of food around for them They're a great judge of character just proves you are animal lover's , everytime me and my wife go to Rocklands I make sure to feed the birds and wallibies but there never as friendly because to many people try to get to close hoping to get a pat,. but when we're there after a couple of days they start to trust me and remember me they are normally waiting at the back door or if I call them there never to far away. Just beautiful.guys

Wow, I recently went fossicking with my girlfriend for the first time on our property that has a creek running through it. We didn't find anything even remotely blue but by the looks of your first find we must have been chucking out some good finds! I can never tell what is what.
@LizKreate3 жыл бұрын
I always go for the dark and shiny. The clearer stones would actually appear darker but when put on a torch or flashlight, that's when you'll see the color come through if there's any. This is the reason why I also pick up or keep the black spinels. It's much easier to throw them out if they're no good than finding them. Good luck and happy hunting for the next time.

@@LizKreate Haha I'm sure he was jealous.. or maybe he wanted to meet them. It's good how you love birds so much. I had so many bad experiences with birds when I was young that now I don't like birds at all.. I don't mind watching them on a screen or if they're in a cage. I really don't like them flying over my head and I can't stand chickens..It's a shame how sometimes our childhood ruins things for life. We use to have chickens and ducks and quail and pigeons and canaries, finches, budgies, Rosella's, dove's etc.. I can't remember the rest. Magpies are probably my #1 enemy and I don't like Emu's either LOL If they are far away I'm ok.. lol (laughing at myself)

I’m at graves hill right now camping. Got talking to another woman fossicker, turns out we both follow you :-) any tips on where to dig. The creek is so full of gravel at the moment after the flood no riverbed is visible. We’ve tried over the other side and had lots of iron stones.
@LizKreate2 жыл бұрын
I hope you're still there since this comment is 4 days old. You'll need to walk up or down the creek to find exposed bedrock where the sapphires might be deposited. Graves hill will still have a lot of missed pieces exposed especially if they have a lot of rain lately. Millionaires gully is hard work but at least it's original deposits. Good luck.
@emma83702 жыл бұрын
@@LizKreate hi thanks :-) unfortunately we moved on this morning to the willows - didn’t find anything but 2 very small chips in graves hill. Hope we have more luck at the willows. The ground looks very different than graves hill.
