Hi Mark, I usually buy it from Amazon in gallons. Look for "Fluorescent Tracer Dye" Do you use any syringe?

@@markbirmes2225 You can get "Graduated Curved Syringe" from amazon as well. But I recommend buying 20pck or more if you are going to use it every day. Which state are you in btw?

Awesome man. Thank you. I wont use every day. I used a leak detector all the time as a builder and paid attention to what my leak detector told me. They all used dry suits/diving gear and dye. No where near the sophistication you have. Im in TX. Just a pool cleaner now.

Hi Entique, I will need to ask a few questions before I give you any advice. 1.Do you lose any water? If yes, how many inches per day? Do you lose water in the pool body or spa area? Please also make sure that the auto fill is closed if applicable. 2. Ehat kind of filter do you have? Also, When was the last time you cleaned the filter? 3. Does the pump primes fast? Do you see bubbles in the pump? (Not just a few but many bubbles) Thank you.

Hello thank you for your help. 1- yes I loose 1-2” per day in spa only No loss in pool and auto fill is turned off 2- I have a DE Hayward filter that was cleaned 1 week ago 3- yes, pool primes fast and there a lot of bubbles in the pump. As well as a lot of bubbles coming out of the return lines. No visible leaks above ground. Had pressure test done on inground plumbing hold pressures as well. Thank you for helping me.

@@eescalante68 Thank you for answering my questions but I have more! 1. Do you lose water even with the pump closed? Did you notice if you lose more water with the pump running or the opposite? 2. Where was the lowest level you saw the water in the spa area? Also, do you know approximately how many inches of water you lose per day? 3. Do you know exactly which pipelines have been pressure tested? Some test you can perform to determine if the leak is on the suction or return line or even on the spa light if applicable, is to fill the spa, plug all return jets and turn off the pump for at least 24h and check if there is any water loss.

It’s been a long time and nobody has been able to pinpoint, pool was just remodeled because they thought was the pebble that was cracked and over 20 years old. 1- Yes, the spa drops overnight when pump is off. The pool has never lost water. 2- The lowest level in the spa was 4” from floor there is a drain on the floor and wall. It went lower than light and just under the drain on wall. Never completely emptied. I would say after the remodel 1-4 overnight seems to me more everyday 3- all lines were pressure tested, the only one that wasn’t was the main drain as the leak detector said would come back after I emptied pool and I didn’t call him back. I figured the pool never loss water it’s always been in the spa. I got a new skimmer installed during install, seems as though the remodel didn’t help the water loss. Sure looks good though. :) 4- my system also has a pool solar system that was installed a year ago on my roof. I already had this water loss issue fir years so I don’t really think that’s it as I have a log years prior charting the water loss? 5- there are a lot of bubble coming in the return lines though. I have replaced orings, the internal gates on valves, shut off the bypass (to test on vs. off), oring on pump lid replaced, disconnected pool cleaner incase hose might have small air leaks, bucket test. I’ll keep trying with your advice I really appreciate you taking time to advice me. Have a great day.

@@eescalante68 If the water level have pass the return lines and stops at the bottom of wall drain, I would recommend you to plug the drains first and check if it drops again. Usually the level of the water stops at the level of the leak. Did the leak detector use any ultrasound device?
