Well you don't need an art style! Though i found it very helpful to not worry about how I'm gonna draw this person, and instead focused on drawing them better.

I think that's okay.. Besides if your art style doesn't go through changes it also means you haven't gone through any improvement.

I had an art style for about 6 months but I didn't like it, but I think I have found my new one now! Mainly experimented with the eyes and found I prefer bigger ones 😁💗💗

I think there’s one exception to your “don’t post your master study” rule: when your study is of a classic master-ex: Monet, or Degas, or Raphael-and you’re clear what painting you’re studying. You still shouldn’t sell that study that’s forgery), but I think posting it on social media is okay. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

yes! as long as you show the original work and credit the artist however, its still better if you dont post them at all just in case the artist is really uncomfy w someone doing that to their work.

One of my main struggles is that i like too many different styles... I like yours and Pypah's art but also vintage children book style and more and i cant choose which one to focus on :/

Then combine them . Try to see what u like in them most u may like the way nose is in one art style , in another u may like the bouncy hair so combine the hair and nose in a character to see...If u like the whole thing separately then draw a character of urs in each of their style and see which makes u more comfortable and feels good

Well Erika! It is so exciting to see how your Patreon is growing! My personal style was always what the client wanted or could pay for! I have recently started to create a more impressionistic bent and I began by switching to a medium I was completely unfamiliar with, soft pastels! There is a learning curve and a completely new way of creating, looking and applying my art knowledge to discover my next style. I recommend to start drawing little characters not to big so then you can start to develop your little drawings (not to little) then start drawing medium to big ect: hoped this helped 😅

This was pretty helpful along with the dozens of other how to find you’re art style videos I’ve watched 😅 But one thing, no one ever says anything about how to develop you’re style with very little to no influence and when no one has the style similar to the one you have in you’re head. I have an idea of what I want my style to become but no idea how to put it to paper. On top of that no one I can find has an art style close to what I want. There’s a few artists with a few aspects that I’m looking for but it’s not close.

That's a good observation! I want to push my style to be even more cartoony. I realized that when I'm unsure about how to stylize something, I fall back on realism because that's what I learned!

Sometimes what help me is references because when I draw I use my imagination sometimes it’s hard because in my imagination I draw so good and I have a art style in my imagination but not when I try to draw it out so I use references from somewhere or from my mind
