Excellence is inherent within every human being. We have traits that make unique things easy for us to do and we all have innate gifts that ensure we will be excellent at something. However, often this excellence is squelched by those who cannot see it within us, or who have different desires and therefore ideas of what excellence is. In this episode, Teal Swan helps us understand where and why we may have lost touch with our own excellence and how to find it again.

What is reality though? Are many of us just waking up to the ideas that much of our “reality” is a web of beliefs that really aren’t serving us anymore? I do totally relate to what you said still! 💖 So much duality in everything and I love that she balances reality with questioning the ego and what’s really real in each of our experiences.

I agree. I got a dark vibe from that response. "Cut them off." A bit extreme. I didn't say they were mean to me or that I didn't love them. They just don't get me. We have very different feelings on what's art or what's special. This video brought those feelings up and took me back to Teal's "authentic " messages. Thanks again Teal.

Teal, I actually find your "uncomfortable truths" quite comforting, because it's the opposite of the gaslighting that is so prevalent...The way I see it, we can be willing to accept uncomfortable truths...which thereby enables us to navigate our way more effectively toward what we want... or we can blindly create hell on Earth (which isn't exactly comfortable either), continuously bumping up against the brick walls we choose not to see in order to stay comfortable. I crave truth...and yes, I like comfort as well, but when push comes to shove and I have to choose one over the other, truth always wins out....because I have seen very clearly where "denial for comfort sake" leads, and it's not the direction in which I crave to go, nor the direction the human race needs to go. I think it's worth mentioning that "truth" isn't ALWAYS the "most uncomfortable" thing....meaning we can't assume something is "True" merely BECAUSE it's uncomfortable. That is to say, I am not "a cynic"... Cynicism is just another variation of bias.
@mariahriojas7016
@mariahriojas7016 5 жыл бұрын
MaCoeur love your comment first of all! I do think that she is not excluding the thought that truth can feel comfortable as well and can be recognized as such. A lot of people perceive truth as uncomfortable (because their main desire is comfort) whereas other people can actually perceive truth as comforting. Truth just is, it’s about the meaning and desire of the one looking at it. Just wanted to share my thought with you💜🤘🏼

1. What bad thing might happen if I knew my excellence and purpose? 2. As a child, what did you naturally and intrinsically do, just for the sake of doing it? If you had no positive feedback or praise for anything you did, what would you do just to do it? 3. As a child, what were you unable to stop doing despite negative feedback? Or, what were you naturally doing all the time that you got no recognition for? 4. What is something that you do so easily that you have trouble understanding why it is so hard for other people to do? 5a. If someone was talking about you to a friend of theirs (where you were not present) what would they say you were excellent at? 5b. Pay close attention to what others say you're excellent at that makes you cringe. Why does it make you uncomfortable that they're saying you're excellent at these things? 5c. What did you make it mean that you were good at that thing? 5d. Can you challenge this meaning? 6. In any situation where someone is not recognizing your excellence, ask yourself: What does this person actually desire in this scenario that makes it so that they can not recognize my excellence? 7a. If I accept that recognition of excellence is completely dependent upon the desires of other people, how would I change my life retrospectively? 7b. And how would it change the way I live my life today?

You have help me so much. I write this with tears of joy. I have acknowledged the mighty inner child personality.. I the adult have acquire so much from that brave soldier who comes in first to receive all the lesson the adult must master . Without that brave soldier I wouldn't be here standing so strong. The inner child bears everything with innocence and the capability of accepting all the hard lessons set into place by our higher self. I the adult use to pity the inner child with all the nasty trauma it has received but I see her now as the most powerful part of me that when through and accepted the experience I must learn as the adult self..I praise her as mighty soldier that is stronger than me the adult self.

I have been said all over my life that I was talented with arts, all kinds of art. I learn how to play guitar very quickly, was the best in my class at painting and copying images, was the best at writing (at 14 my teacher said that I was the most intelligent girl he ever met). I am starting to think that my excellence is understanding things. I was the one that explained the lesson to my classmates when the teacher's explanation was too complicated. I have always undervalued this easiness and effortlessness of mine to understand because in the academic field what is valued is memory and hard work. I don't like hard work! I don't like to have to study for hours, I like a quick explanation I can understand, that's why I love philosophy. Teal, please, could you give a student some tips on how to excell at studying, even when you love what you study? The pressure of exams and deadlines is making me think that maybe... I should just drop off!
@JorisVDC

I can relate a whole lot to your story. What I have learnt in studying is that you just have to write your own simple explanation of what you want to study. It is your summary of that course and makes it that more easy to remember, because it becomes your story. Whatever you do: I have find out that you will never be able to run away from what you fear. So if you are afraid of dropping out: what is it exactly that you are afraid of? I have always had a hard time to start the work. It's only if you own your own fear, that you will now the purpose of what you need to do.

Funny but it's the way you memorize is what determines how fast you learn and thus ready for the exam😊 Figure out what's the best way for you to remember when you study, and you never have to worry about exams! Look into Jim Kwik's method of learning which is about creating a visual/associate with what you want to remember. It's amazing what all you can recover under time pressure of the exam😄

To continue. Foreign language was one of hardest for me. Not all of them, but still... and I had English since kindergarten, believe me. But it's only after I was submerged into the surroundings of it, I finally began to feel it. I remember i used to visualized myself walking down Madrid to prepare for my Spanish. Haven't made it there yet but it helped me a lot with feeling the language.

I'm an artist in medical school and I can relate. It was really hard, but I learned how to compress huge chunks of info into one index card. It took me a long time to figure it out, but I did so much better in school. You can try that too, but if you really hate school that much, you may want to reflect. Learning is basically repetition, that's what studying really is.

@Jasmine the idea that singers don't practice & are just naturally that good is false. I am an artist. I was not born a master painter, I was born with the ability to understand space & visuals. It comes easy to me to make & learn art because I love it. I practice art every single day of my life. Practice is what makes someone great. No one is born belting Mariah Carey, they have to practice.
@meomarte
@meomarte 2 жыл бұрын
@Jasmine If I may expand this a bit for you or anyone reading: Talent does not make you automatically good at something. Becoming good still requires certain amount of practice and thought and focus into details. What talent does do, is give you strength and tenacity to continue practicing and finding out things, where others would give up and go do something else. In other words: If you are able to practice something and it does not feel insurmountable, you are already "good" at it, you have a tendency for it. As regards singing: You really don´t have to become a professional to sing or for singing to be worth it. Singing has a positive impact to your health anyway, so go do it regardless!

What I’ve noticed is that every time I follow a path of trying to get an education in things that I excel at I get frustrated, because every system of education that produces things that I naturally excel at have ways and methods that are inferior to the methods I instinctively use. Systems of education get caught up in me perfecting their flawed system instead of judging my output, which is far superior to theirs. Systems of education rate being able to do their procedure instead of the output of the actual task.

Yesterday I spent some time on the water back in a blackwater swamp. All morning I was quiet and barely made a ripple as I moved my canoe between the Cypress trees. I fished and watched the changes as the sun moved higher. I saw several Cottonmouth snakes, each resting, cleverly blending in on a limb or log. There must be many things that they are excellent at, but I could only recognize the things that would have profound effect on me. Once I was further away, I could imagine what other talents they must have to live there and even have time to rest. People might only recognize my excellence when it could have a profound effect on them. Strong video as usual Teal. You are just enough of a prick to have my respect. I laugh to think what tomorrow will bring...hundreds of Teal followers with torches and pitchforks out in my yard demanding that I don't say prick. I sincerely relate to you a lot, Teal Swan. I had written a long comment describing my experience and detailed thoughts but I'm not ready to put that out to the world yet I don't think. The largest takeaway from this is that I've definitely learned more about what I am here to do. And no matter what I do, it all leads to the same place when I'm trying to answer this question. And I agree, I've been denying it. I haven't wanted to accept it because I know what it would mean for me. I don't feel ready. And beyond that, I'm afraid I won't be up to snuff or something will block my path leading to disappointment. Yet the deeper I go into my healing, and self discovery/awareness, the deeper and more powerful the feeling is about what my purpose is, and that nothing is going to stop me from achieving it. There will be hurdles, and obstacles, but ultimately, it will be done. That's what I feel. That's what I have always felt, ever since I was a young child who was asked, "what do you want to do with your life?" And the older I got, the stronger this feeling became. I had about 9-10 years of my life taken away, seemingly deviating me from that purpose and disconnecting myself from myself, but after escaping that entrapment and disorientation, I realized that when I thought I was lost, it was where I was meant to be all along. Finding my way through the darkness, is what leads me to belonging and purpose. Now that I am healing, and growing, I realize that my whole life, and the moments that have still yet to come to pass, will lead me exactly where I want and need to go. I am needed. I am wanted. And I am on the path to success. And no matter what I do, I cannot shake this feeling. No matter how negative I am with myself. It keeps coming back. I can't quit, and whatever force that is propelling me, won't quit on me either. This I just know. But I don't understand why, or how I know. I've always known I was here for a reason. I just didn't know why. I would really like to find out exactly why. And this in and of itself, disturbed people growing up. As an adult it feels more acceptable. But my sense of purpose, meaning, and innate/intuitive knowledge, really made people uncomfortable and even angry. Still does. But that's okay. I would like to learn how to fit in the world comfortably being who I am and do what it is I am meant to do, rather than, pretending to be someone I am not for the sake of other people's comfort. I hope and pray for the courage, to become authentic, and to find those I truly belong with. AND I know by wishing this in my heart, that the obstacles that will teach me how to do this will come. And it won't be comfy, but I will ultimately be rewarded for learning from it. "The better it gets, the better it gets." I follow somewhat closely along your content Teal, but I also make sure to follow my path and try to learn things for myself. Because it's important that I take time to make my own conclusions. When I get stuck and have a hard time learning something for myself, I come to you. I appreciate your guidance and teachings. They make the journey so much easier and smoother.

Teal talks about things that i have felt or heard within my soul somewhere as an intrinsic truth. i had a deep meditative moment about 3 or 4 years ago where i realized that we as a people need to stop worrying about getting those around us to understand what we understand, stop trying to get others that are not interested in recognizing a truth. and simply line up with the ones that already recognize the truth you know so you can further discover what is true for you. this video gave me that same feeling as that meditative moment i had years ago and validated that belief i was shown. thank you, Teal

Omg finally someone said it! So much of what you said I got as information when channeling but it’s the first time I hear it being explained by someone. And you always explain things SO well! Listening to all of your videos, I always tune in to every word and start channeling right after. Thank you SO much for all that you do! 💖

How timely this message comes to me! I just finished listening to a spiritual teacher speak that everything we see outside ourselves is a reflection of our inner world. Oh my. I questioned this teacher's teachings. I feel like I SEE a lot of things that many deny. And what I see, is not necessarily comfortable. No, but awakening, yes. And this has been a gift a long time, which I have pushed away, for the very reasons pointed out here by you, Teal. My need/desperation to belong and to be liked. But it doesn't work. I hear what you say about demographics as well. For my people are all the ones you speak of. This message is rattling my core. Thank you. I have watched it twice today and taken notes. Asked myself the questions. And answered the questions. Humbling. Humbling. Sigh of relief. I must be True.

I've been watching your videos for around 5 years, and I don't know what I should have done without them❤❤❤ Thank you so much. I've just ordered 3 of your books. 😃 I just want to share that for a long time your videos made me in SUCH a bad mood every time! Like literally!! But now that I know how I have felt about reality my whole life, it makes so much sense that it makes me smile 😃 I've noticed that I'm getting less and less uncomfortable while watching you speak. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. You are amazing💝❤

Teal, just one or two days before this video got out, I was about to ask a question but stopped because I was not able to form a single sentence that endet with a clear question. In the end I did not write anything and now I got the answer. Literaly. It touches my heart . So thank you so much for responding. Thank you universe.

Wow! I can relate to this. This feeling of never being good enough is my life's biggest challenge. The good side, as you said, is that you are never satisfied with yourself and strive for improvement. Also, just recetly (by writting down in a notbook positive aspects about myself), I discovered my talents and gifts. For those who don't see value and worth in yourself - do that exercise IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE. We all have something special and unique to give to this world and through growth and positive living we can discover what that is, become excellent at, and live a great fulfilled life. Much success :)

Feeling so extremely appreciative for this content, and feeling so much relief and understanding. Was totally absorbed, and made lots of notes through out. Been reading on how to uncover my blocks, pertaining to one thing in particular, and this has been more helpful. I had the answers inside of me already, and this has brought them out. Feel I now have more of a structure that I can bring towards working through whats holding me back. Was going to keep this to myself, but thought I'd share with the universe, as a way of deep thanks.

Yeah, comfort. It is only recognition of no-comfort-without-facing-and-resolving made me stop "positive thinking"and "keep high vibration at all costs". And you know what? I'm only with you while I need to face and resolve. The moment I feel all my troubles go away, nothing itching inside and demanding for recognition by pain... I would stop wanting to listen those deppressive negative things Teal says from her painful experience. I would stop watching and following you naturally cause I prefer comfort. So, thank you very much for your hard and non-grateful work. Our sour medicine and patient teacher. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and wish you're some way rewarded for all you hard work. I found your videos when I felt like I was drowning and all alone. I had never heard of the concepts you taught. My father and mother were ministers. They did what they thought was right for me but it poisoned me for years. For me, hearing reality, from your perspective was enlightening. I can see why people get uncomfortable because of the reasons you mentioned. However, for me, it was like I could breathe again and suddenly everything made sense. You triggered my awakening and for that I am always grateful. I have had many people around me say things about you and even threw away a book that I purchased “sculptor in the sky”. I never let it stop me from believing your words bc it is my truth. I believe the people around me have not experienced the level of pain I have so they didn’t need to go searching. I am grateful for my pain as it was a portal to expansion. I am patient with them. However many people I have cut out of my life and I have never been happier. I know I will finish reading your book again some day.

This video is excellent. Thanks Teal for helping me with my shadow work today, the prompts were really helpful in identifying and clarifying my situation around friendships, family relationships and relationship with self and how I perceived my excellence. I can also recognize how other people have neglected excellences as well and it's interesting how many factors could have affected that. Thank you.

I have been so depressed and sadly jealous of others success and my excellence has been staring me in the face for over a decade. I have been procrastinating for a long time, maybe because the pain is just a friend to me now or something and I have the fear of success. I compare my excellence to others and wonder why I can make that kind of money by living their excellence. It's exhausting and self-depricating. We are all on our own journey and we need to own it and stop comparing. The biggest step for me, is to start taking action towards my excellence. Best of luck to you all and your discovery towards your excellence.

Teal, you help us in ways that most people don't give. Most people say "It's okay." which isn't true or "Suck it up and deal with it." which isn't helpful. Instead of giving people comfort, you give people the ability to truly comfort themselves, truly, not a false comfort, but comfort in it's true from.

I wish this had more views. I think a lot of people struggle with feeling like an outcast and this video explains why. The people around them want something they are not. They could have immense gifts, but the people around them want to indulge, use, or be enabled, and they fail to recognize that this is what's happening. I struggle with this, I've watched tons of her videos, and this is what made it click finally that I'm not what people want . . . and that's a good thing. I know what my gifts are and I don't feel ashamed of them anymore just because unconscious people don't want them. It's not an indication of value-just popularity.

Holly Molly! You always do it Teal. You take something that can be elusive and break it down until each component is in a simple form for best understanding. The show and topic is fantastic. It is flowing in light and love. To me your are sharing the formula I dream and believe is answer for creating the world I want to live in. Your excellence is fantastic. I find your videos very encouraging, inspiring and flowing with wonderful stuff! Thanks for sharing. ..... I noticed here and there your adding more close ups in your blogs. It is very pleasant to see your eyes so well. They are very expressive. Up close they add a whole extra wonderful ambient multi conscious poetry to the experience of watching & listening. Your eyes are beautiful. ... maybe your demographic is potentially, and eventually anyone, and everyone. Could be it's not who as much as it is when and what. I managed to find you without any marketing. It was a seemingly random act when I was turning the dial on the radio and herd you talking. I was curious first, then more intrigued, and then, within 14 min. routing for you all the way. Seems your will to share has created the audience.. "build it and they will come".. To me it looks like you built something wonderful and infinite. Re you final question to ask ourselves, retrospectively,,, I think my life would have been a whole different experience on my journey. But the destination or aim remains the same. Perhaps sometimes it's a rabbit trail and sometimes it's a turtle trail. Somehow I'm just happy enough to be here now being me and doing what I think is my best in a way that I can and do. Your video was an aha realization with what feels to be a greater conscious awareness that is making an infinite ripple in what is, and can become of me, from me, through me.

Teal❤️! You have nailed it! I “spend time” contemplating this concept in terms of the education system here in our rich western countries…the current one size that fits all system is an obvious fail in our current time. I’m excited for these conversations and moving into open minded expansion (AKA, the near future) I have great faith in our beautiful human family, while I move through it …as it is. The bigger, broader picture is another word for faith.❤🙏

Looking back at my half-century, I recall a society that had a real need for people as standardized cogs: part of school's lesson was how to function in a machine without going nuts. Automation's eliminating such roles faster and faster, but letting go of emotional and financial attachments to the old model is a fog on the path to a more authentic life. Thanks: hearing someone else organize and restate thoughts I've had in my self-reprogramming efforts is encouraging.

teal, i was at the conscious expo in los angeles and was able to meet with you briefly though i was the one who made it brief. i told you facing you was like facing the truth and could only have feeling of gratitude for your presence. now i have a dozen questions pertaining to your well being that have surfaced because your PRESENCE is felt in depths of my existence- i’d love to reflect, learn, and teach with you. i felt pressured and rushed as if i would be rejected of your presence, but of course i soon realized the whys and hows later after the encounter. we will align again in this lifetime. i feel it vivid as i am integrating my Divine Feminine to be projected on the external rather than internal and allowing my Divine Masculine to be the energy within of “inner knowing” of Amness-today i’d look you in the eyes longer than i did the first time and wouldn’t feel the discomfort within. also, i highly agree with the filtered spiritual community...ironically just more fragmentation from Source lol

This just made me realize that this is exactly what I felt at my childhood; I felt early excellence and felt like I posses prodigy qualifications. At some point I started to feel excessive feeling of invisibility and neglect by community as a child: I felt like no matter what I do no one sees me. This is when I start to settle, compromise, until I morphed into a very mediocre unimpressive judgemental version of myself that is so out of *Alignment* with who I really am. It took years for me to get back to my natural talents. I felt like my parents didn't desire my success as well, they wanted their own version of me

This is a great video. After researching my trauma and learning how to dig out, I'm going back to this philosophy you're speaking about. I did get lost for about 18 years (horrible marriage and horrible divorce). It was devastating because I was not aware of the extreme deception someone can portray, or as some of your videos show, one can believe is reality. He drove us to poverty. I'm learning how to live again.
