100% agree. I've been trying to create a style where no 2 tracks sound alike. My favorite band is Led Zeppelin. My favorite rapper is Em. I listen to Motown religiously. I listen to classical and gospel a few days a week. I don't want to be genre specific to be honest. I dream of a genre where I could have a track on a rock station and another track on a rap station at the same time lol. that's probably why I haven't found my sound yet either.

I've been watching your videos for a while and never actually went through the actions of liking and following you until this video. I tend to watch people on KZfaq for a while and keep up with them by consistently searching for them again before I actually decide whether or not I want to follow them. You have quality information that you provide for not just music artists, but also for anyone that wants to engage in business. Keep up the good work!

Very much agreed big bro... My favorite producers are ; The Neptunes, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis (80's Era), and Quincy Jones (Off The Wall, Thriller, Bad Era). I found everything I liked about their sound and made it into my own. Just about everyone I know that hear my beats are blown away. Gotta admit, after listening to the different vids you made for 'Producer Motivation 911'. This one in particular gave me a new outlook on what I'm trying to accomplish with music. I've always been one about how the sound affects me.

Finding your sound is almost like finding yourself, Finding the things *you* as a human being enjoy the most and therefore influences you subconciously in your decisions, Which then eventually contribute to how you produce, What sounds you use, Certain vibes you gravitate towards etc etc =))

Curtiss you deserve a statue for this video man lol! I would always ask myself, "Can I really take what I like from certain producers and make it my own sound?" I've recently jumped back into making beats and watching your videos have really helped me understand FL Studio better than I did when I used to make beats.

I'm really feeling this. Frfr. I feel like my melodies are a weakness. It's hard to find a melody consistently. For me since I been playing the drums my whole life naturally that's easy. Especially since I'm a neo soul type of guy. It's hard for me to make those types of beats.

I did come across a video a long time ago that said the same thing. I did some research on different types of musicians and what I learned about music is that music comes in all forms. There are all types of music. There are so many videos here about them all. I researched a lot of them before I felt comfortable with my work. I'm glad I did, because I wanted to fit in everywhere not just one type of music.

Great advise!! My fav producers are Justblaze, and Premo so my beat resembles them, but I tend to get more musical, so that kind of separates me. I was raised on 80's R&B so I get alot of my chord progression from that. Dope video! Bless up

man I love this vid. 1st becuz just blaze and 9th wonder are 2 of my favs too. secondly ppl always listen to my music and say "that's different. it sounds like a movie. idk how to get at this beat." I think what makes me unique is my background in classical and theatrical music. the only reason I started making beats was becuz my friend sampled one of my pieces and made a dope hip-hop track. sorry this is a lengthy post. I jus like how u tell the truth and don't beat around the bush. keep it up!!

I like your video. I heard that before about taking things from different places. I just produce music. How ever it comes out that's it. I just experiment with sounds and rhythms. What's on my channel is my original work. No one taught me how to create music. It was by trial and error that I began producing music. I know what you mean. I understand your point.

@lancemoss6937
@lancemoss6937 7 жыл бұрын
Are you bouncing? Can you imagine yourself listening to that track in the club? chilling with your friends? driving in the car? Also good is too vague a question. What's good to me, might not be good for somebody else. My thing is if it sounds good to you, then it's good. Yeah you can always clean up the technical things that might be wrong, like Mixing or Eq on some stuff, or if something is too loud or not loud enough or the pitch of something. But sonic-ally if it sounds good to you, and you like it. Then "It's Good"
@oldsoul5815
