I am a 72 year old woman, I have loved art, (drawing and painting ) my entire life. As a young child I would color typical pictures children will do. The house,the tree ,your family and the sun in the corner. Baby animals etc. This podcast has made me realize I have followed the route you all have laid out in finding your voice. Of course, all these pursuits slowed down as I was raising my family. After I retired, I jumped from medium to medium. My esthetic has changed frequently and the comment made of going inward to not necessarily find myself, I did find myself pretty early on. But I wanted you to know, that comment turned a doorknob for me which also opened a door. I will be following this podcast and I really enjoyed it much more coming from such young minds. Thank you!

This kind of reminds me of the point on That 70's Show when the kids are in the basement and the camera goes around to each person as they share some thoughts! I love the Milan Art Institute. They offer so much more than any other place!

Wow - I am blown away and speechless by this podcast. And, I think similar to Dino's thinking, this came to me at an important time in my life. What an incredible group of people. I wish we could teach the ideas discussed about finding your personal aesthetic/voice/sense of yourself, really, to everyone on the planet - it would be a much kinder place to experience our lives. I have been slowly, on my own, learning "how" to be an artist. It was so helpful today to remember that EVERYONE is an artist - thank you for reminding me that we are all creators as humans. I can't afford the Mastery program (yet) and, at 59, not sure it's the right path for me, but I will absolutely continue to take Milan's courses, follow your podcast, and engage in the Milan community. What a wonderful family and how fortunate Elli's children are to have grown up in this family (understanding of course that every family has their own set of difficulties, traumas, challenging dynamics!) where they have been taught the importance of being creative. Well done to all 3 three of you!

Aesthetic can change as well as a person grows. I know I used to not care about scenery’s until after i committed my life to God my eyes opened up to the beauty of nature out of nowhere

Great chat! Those last few words spoken by Dino are the key take away message. Some of gen-X-ers just didn't take the time to get to know ourselves when we were young. So, it's been very interesting trying to unwrap things now.

I really enjoyed this podcast. Since I have been following and participating in the workshops with Milan I have grown as an artist. You answered some questions I have been asking myself. I can’t wait until I can take the full Mastery Program. I also discovered that I have been doing some of what you mentioned in relation to my journal, I use Pinterest to for inspiration.

I dont mean to be arrogant, but I just finished reading "Your Brian on Art". And the book comprises decades of research on this matter, and proves that biologically for evolution and actual function (very intricate to explain and honestly you won't regret reading or listening to this book) that there is a reason and a how and why we find things pleasant. It can even be measured by brain scans. Highly recommend every artist of every discipline needs to read this.

I would love to hear more about this subject. (Finding your own voice as an artist). There's so much to talk about on a personal level. for me... It's been my biggest overcoming hurdle as an artist (I'm excited when I get there in the Mastery Program - I'm at week 11 currently). Specifically finding my style and process and then after subject matter. I'de love to personally hear in depth testimonies as to how people figured this out for themselves. I suppose the link between aesthetics and skill and voice (I understand this changes and even grows over time).

Some dark aestheic is really.popular. I can't stand stuff by Francis Bacon for example but he was very successful. Look at the Blind Dweller channel. He loves this stuff and does fascinating documentaries about them. I also don't like ptetty pretty either. The images should mean something.

I didn't appreciate German Expressionism until I had a good art history course. Otto Dix is a favorite of mine. The aesthetic of the art is not something anyone would call beautiful but *why* it looks the way it does is much deeper. Otto Dix also captured horrifically damaged war veterans and devastating trench images from WWI in a collection of sketches. It has a visceral impact in it's honesty but not something you would hang in your living room.

there is more artist in the world not only becuase of what it is said but also because the worlds economy is much richer. the art market is larger.

I totally love birds and the ocean so my aestetique is to refine the light and forms to offer some sights into that realm and most of the people that love abstracts, no subjects, no forms inspired from alive nature do not look at that art and are turned off ! Some part of abstract arts goal is self referential to the point of an aesthetic purely visual !
