Is the 3 ft leader because it's winter time or is this your normal leader for 3-4 ft water?

When do you use a treble hook over a single hook with shrimp? Do you have better hook ups with the treble? thanks

I went to south padre island, I threw my line next a pillar in the bay and 30 seconds later a red fish went for it. I caught it with frozen shrimp but it was only 20in

Are you popping it or just letting the bait do the action?

How do you cast a shrimp that far without the splash of a heavy weight?
@curttimmbch4 жыл бұрын
The popping cork supplies alot of weight. When you hook the shrimp through the horn like they showed on this video and add the pooping cork you can cast quite a ways and not sling the bait off. Also the pooping cork has brass beads that always go toward the bait. Weight to the bait...

Do you have better luck with a shrimp under the cork or freelined?
@modernpawn7 жыл бұрын
where we fish, the cork works better.

Release or keep?
@modernpawn7 жыл бұрын
we keep some fish. we release most. 22-24 inch redfish eat really well, and we always eat what we keep. we release all the larger ones.

Was that a Beer bottle I saw at 8:05? If so, that is an absolute no no for a boater.
@mrmcmccabe5 жыл бұрын
Why?
@BlaneysChannel5 жыл бұрын
An angry Redfish will take a glass bottle and hit you upside the head with it. Very painful.🙃
@nathanbutler82407 жыл бұрын
i actually have better luck hooking in the tail here in texas when a shrimp is spooled it jumps backwards tail hooking and slow retrieval backwards is more natural
@modernpawn7 жыл бұрын
Tail hooking the shrimp works well at times, when the trout bite is slow.
@nathanbutler82407 жыл бұрын
modernpawn have yall ever used the small rattles like when using croakers as bait. but instead using the rattles free lineing shrimp
@modernpawn7 жыл бұрын
no, but I bet that would work. normally if we free line, we just free line.
