A little bit of tilting is "ok". If the helmet fits poorly then I'd recommend trying a different size or alternative brand. Helmets come in oval and circular shapes with a variety of depths, so it's always a good idea to try on a few different styles before making your decision.

there are three types of helmets... or more. there are full face helmets for downhill, freeride mtb and bmx etc.

@Paul Cook... You've obviously never been hit by a car and have your head slam into the bonnet/hood? I have, leaving a man sized impression, the helmet saved my bare head cracking into metal. No a helmet isn't going to save you from a head on collision at 30-40mph, ( that's where common sense and road safety come in) but if you fall off onto Tarmac or on the trail, it can save you from concussion/fracture or being impaled on a branch

How to fit a bicycle helmet (in reality): 1. Have crippling helmet laws that make cycling less convenient and more importantly: more expensive. 2. Purchase a helmet for way to much money that makes you look like an alien with fish-fins or a doofus from a skate-park. 3. Place helmet in dusty location hidden behind old christmas decorations. Congratulations, you have properly fitted a helmet!

what is your suggestion on finding a helmet for "black females"? I change my hairstyle often (it's mostly braided in one way or another. but having my hair down one day and in two large french braids the next.... I'm not sure how to find something that will work/that is always safe

Massage by Constance That is a tough question, and my best recommendation would be to just try on some helmets. Fit is critical when choosing a helmet, so it is important to take hair style, and head shape into consideration. Beyond the tips in the video, it is very hard to prescribe someone a helmet without them trying it on. As mentioned in the video, we do have free returns, so if you ordered a helmet, but it didn't work out, you could just send right back us.

+bisyhefr Helmets are pretty much the coolest thing out there. Top pros from every discipline don't wear helmets for no reason, or simply to look like nerds. As neat as your cycling cap might be and for as much street credit as you might get with three other people who see it, not wearing a helmet is a bad move and shouldn't be common practice. In my experience the people who wear helmets are the most disrespectful, least safety conscious, and least coordinated bicycle riders out there. Time and time again I see them competing with vehicles on the road, often times riding in car lanes and riding very arrogantly like everybody should make way for them. They are the ones who are always crashing, and invariably are always the ones making comments like "If I weren't wearing a helmet that day I surely would have died." With or without a helmet you would have died because you ride like an idiot. Aside from that every single long term study done with regards to bicycle helmets prove that they are detrimental to safety. Bottom line...You would have to be an idiot to wear a bicycle helmet.

Fairies are the people that are too stupid to wear helmets in cars where helmets would save more lives. If you think bicycle riders look cool wearing helmets why not wear them in cars. Think of the COOL factor!!!!
