How to fit roof rack rails / bar to Range Rover Evoque

In this video we have a go at fitting a set of roof rails to our Range Rover Evoque ! These roof rails fit to the evoque without needing to drill and holes. It is a bit of a jigsaw puzzle so i hope this helps someone work this out. these are Land Rover PN VPLVR0086 and VPLVR0085

Thanks for making the video, it was really helpful putting mine on. they’re now fully fitted, not bad going since I only got an email saying they were back in stock yesterday. Ordered, delivered and fitted in less than 24 hours...and looking good!!

Hello - great video, thank you. I was wondering what is the part number for the shorter pieces that would accommodate the panoramic roof? What you have above are part numbers for Roof Rails for Black (0086) and Silver (0085). Thanks again, great video!

Yes there is the Riley Kestrel Sprite in the garage - there is a video on this one here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m8tnoNygxt3OfYE.html Then there is a standard Ford Popular 103E in the garage waiting to be restored !

I have Evoque from 2016. My cover (the long version) does not want to come off despite the fact that I am quite experienced (I have also mounted a towbar myself). What can I do?

Anyone got any tips or ticks for fitting the final plastic end caps in place? one slid in fine , I have spent hours trying to get the other three in but they simply won't slide in?

Hi, I have this problem, I have a 2015 range rover evoque with NOT a panoramic roof. I bought the longitudinal bars, but if I detach the current moldings, there are some holes. Where can I buy these moldings with dedicate space that you mount in the video ?? Hope in your answer! 🙏🏻 Thank you

Tried fitting these rails today to an Evoque with panoramic roof. Rails fitted without the roof fillers in but when the roof fillers were in place the allen key screws were miles out of alignment. No amount of force would let me get the bolts through to secure the rails to the mount brackets. There were also 10 metal washers with the fittings and no mention of where to use them? Any advice, thanks!

Igot the kit from Amazon, but as you mentioned, it doesn't come with the middle filler part ( Idon't have the panoramic glass). You said you couldn't find an after market one , but I see you got one somewhere. Could you tell me where you got it and the part number? Was it directly from Land Rover? Thank you.

The roof rails were an option - i can find the PN but not the instructions oddly The PN in black is LR108762 but depends on if you have the pano roof etc.

I wonder if anybody knows what the difference is between a roof rail kit and a finisher kit. I have a non- panoramic 7 seater discovery sport and im having trouble choosing between the two kits.

I think the rail kit is the actual rails that sit above the roof and run from the front to the rear on each side. The finisher are the strips that lay flat with the roof and fill the gap left when your remove the original finisher rails to fit the roof bars... you will most likely need to buy both !

The velar is odd as i remember - it it was not fitted with roof rails from the factory they cannot be added... There is no part number for the roof rails kit on JLR ystem and none on their accessory page - so it is factory fitted option only i think accessories-instructions.landrover.com/enUSA/range-rover-velar

Great video, congrats! I have a 2021 RR Velar and the dealership told me that is impossible to fit roof bars but ai think the process is similar to the Evoque. Is there any possibility? I really miss my Thule roof box. Thank you.

Lucky for you the roof mounts are in your car from factory Fit the cross bars and you are away to go accessories-instructions.landrover.com/enUSA/range-rover-velar/G2107836 Not sure where you are based but happy to help you fit these and show others.

Just tried this. So difficult to get those end caps on the ends at the end of the video. So much so I ended up chipping the glass roof. 👍so they have been binned and we will make do naked 😅

You could always paint the brackets and bolts black, I imagine it would look okay..

Yes - different "cover strips" are needed as the cover strips do not run the length of the roof.

Sorry we do not sell these roof bars anymore - they were getting damaged in the post too easily. I think Land Rover have stopped making them too !

Hi there, could you tell me the weight limit for these rails? And what is the weight limit for the evoque? Can a hard shell roof tent be fitted and actually take the weight of two sleeping in it? Thanks

OK so there are a few things here - the issue is DYNAMIC load and STATIC load. If you have 50Kg on the roof and brake suddenly at 70 MPH - what is going to happen - this is what the manufacturer will have to guarantee... and this is why they set the weight limits... in my optinion static load of a roof tent with the load well spread out is not a problem.

Damn good question - I justed check the parts catalogue and they just have 2 PN's for black and silver - no mention of 3 / 5 door Could the roof be the same ? its possible ? I also looked at the pano sunroof panel and again they do not list a 3 and 5 door version - just one type ?

Not at the moment ... several reasons... 1 - they were getting damaged in the post 2 - there was some variability in the quality. 3 - there was very little profit for the item. 4 - the items are quite big to store and post.
