My wife bought a Dell laptop with Win11 some weeks ago. This week the firmware was updated automatically. After that the inaccessible_boot_device error appeared. 😐 I suspected that something had messed up the bios while it was updated. So I searched for the error code, bios and dell. Changing the SATA Operation (which I found under storage in our bios) from RAID On to AHCI did the trick (it's in the video at 1:30). 😀 So my wife is happy again and I don't have to call support. This is a life saver! My laptop was powered off for 1 week and just won’t boot up. Switch the BIOS SATA option to AHCI fixed the issue. The mystery is why it was set to RAID previously.

If you bought a new computer it should come set to Raid On only if the drive installed in the computer requires it

Hi, I use Dell Inspiron 15R 5521 and it's Bluetooth and touchscreen aren't working. It earlier had a problem of BSOD but I fixed it seeing your video. Thank you for that. Coming back to the problem, in the device manager, Bluetooth and HID-complaint touchscreen are visible in hidden section and in properties, I see a message, "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45) To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer." for both Bluetooth and HID-complaint touch screen. Do I need to replace the screen? Please help me to resolve this issue.

I would try updating BIOS and reinstalling the operating system before you start replacing parts. You want to make sure it isn't some sort of software issue.

When I finally got into windows it would not let me go online. My wifi adapters were showing problems in device manager. I ended up needing to reset my network which somehow made everything work.

Sorry to hear that☹ First I would try what we call reseating the hard drive which means unplugging it and then plugging it back in. Then rerun the diagnostic. If that does not work then its most likely that you need a new hard drive. Sometimes when a hard drive really dies the motherboard doesn't read it as being installed. 1:25 ended up being the resolution to my issue. Dell laptop Blue Screened in the middle of a Windows update with an original Stop Code of Kernel_Security_Check_Failure. After rebooting it started to give a different stop code of Inaccessible_Boot_Device. The manual System Restore Point I created could not be found and updates could not be rolled back. Ran "Thorough" Dell diagnostic tests with results coming back positive. SATA/NVMe Operation was set to Raid when I viewed the setting. After selecting the radio button for AHCI/NVMe the Bios prompts with a Warning saying that "Changing this setting may prevent your operating system from booting or require a reinstall. Are you sure you want to continue? - Yes / No. After selecting Yes and exiting the Bios Windows 11 proceeded to boot up seemingly successfully.

My dell Latitude 6400 on boot up. Everything looks ok until Windows 7 starts to boot then it jumps to a blue screen momentarily then start all over again and just keeps going through this. The blue screen gives the error about a hardware issue. I did diagnostics and everything passed. I put the hard drive in another Latitude 6400 and on boot up it did the same thing. Any Ideas. Did you try adjusting the BIOS setting as it shows in the video? Because it being set on AHCI when it should be set on Raid on or set on Raid on when it should be set on AHCI is the common reason for this issue.

Thanks so much for this video. I tried both (F2 and F12) I ran the diagnostic and it's coming up as not having any problems. I passed all my tests. Yet my laptop still won't start. Any idea why this is? 😭😭

My bios is password protected. Bought a Dell latitude 5510. Tried to plug into Ethernet and do a recovery. Everything went well until blue screen with sad face.

So I'm still getting the error "No Bootable Devices Found", and when checking the Boot Sequence in the BIOS, I don't see the Windows Boot Manager. I'm also getting a Battery error saying it can't supply sufficient power so I have to replace it, again

It can be a hardware or software issue if it doesn't show in the boot menu. To determine if it is a hardware problem, you need to run the diagnostic like you see in the video. What happens when you run the diagnostic? Does everything pass?

@EggheadFixers the diagnostics will say that my battery needs to be replaced first but in the end it said there was no issue just kept saying no bootable device found. I replaced my old HDD with an SSD so I think this may be the problem because the new SSD I have may not have Win10 installed

@@IamJerf Yes that is the problem. After you put a new hard drive in you will need to install Windows 10. You will keep getting a No Bootable Device Error until Windows is installed. Let me know if you have any questions about installing Windows

@EggheadFixers I was able to fix everything. I actually had to buy a new flash drive cuz I had no other ones that are 8GB or more memory. I managed to install Windows on my laptop and now everything is perfect. I installed the 2T SSD and 32gb RAM onto my laptop and now it boots up way faster, I can search my web browser without waiting an hour to load, and my upload speed is slightly faster. My only other problem now is needing to replace the battery because somehow it dies in less than hour at full power.

If its new then it should be under warranty. If I were you I would call it in and have them fix it before trying to do it yourself. Dell comes with a really good warranty.

My bios is password protected and I have no clue what the password is. I tried all my usual passwords and no luck. Anything I can do? I already unplugged the battery from the motherboard and removd the coin battery and waited a minute then put it all back together and the bios is still password protected!

I would google the make and model. See if you can find a reset password for it. You can also call into the computers manufacturer.

BIOS does vary from computer to computer. So you will have to read through your tabs and try to look for the tabs we are using.

You didn't close with what to do if this didn't fix your problem. The pc started having the inaccessible boot device after a Dell update and have noway to revert to before the update.

@@EggheadFixers yes everything had pass and the laptop is still stuck in a boot loop of bsod for inaccessible boot devices

@@sneakydemon1198 If all the hardware passed the diagnostic then the next step would be to try reinstalling the operating system. Usually this problem is caused by a problem with the operating system. Here is a video on how to do that: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iqucdq11x7HIe58.html You can skip the part of the video about replacing your hard drive. Let me know if you have any more questions:)

Sometimes when the Operating System is not functioning properly then you can no longer get to the options to reset it. In this case, the next step would be to reinstall the operating system. Here is a video on how to do that: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iqucdq11x7HIe58.html You can skip the part of the video about replacing your hard drive. Let me know if you have any more questions:)

It says for me No bootable devices were found possible causes could be a corrupt OS image or a boot device is not enabled in bios setup, what do i do to fix the problem

It can be a software or a hardware issue. You have to try a couple of different things to see what exactly is wrong with it. What happens when you run the diagnostic? Does everything pass?

i have this same problem with an Inspiron 5576 2016 model , 2 days a go was working perfectly fine my Girlfriend went to turn it on the next day and gave me this error shes lost 2 years worth of work now i know some folks dont like putting information the google cloud i completely get it .I did a self diagnostic check everything but battery came back with a red check mark . but its normal on 2 year model laptops for battery problems i downloaded Microsoft creation tools windows 10 64 bit put it on a pin drive and booted but i have to recheck the bios settings to make sure shes on ACHI mode . some reason windows 10 does not want to be reinstalled LOL , can anyone help with a final solution to this problem

You said you made sure its on AHCI. Did you try switching between AHCI and the other options?
