How to fix your leaky third brake light.

The new third brake light I got for my truck was leaking due to a crappy gasket that comes with it, here's how to fix it. I also had to do this on my stock one when the truck was new because it was leaking as well.

Thanks brother! I just picked up some foam tape from my local store. I actually ordered an eBay LED cargo light. It appears decent but the seal looks crappy. Don't want to take any risk.

Just curious how the foam has held up over the winters? I found some rubber boat and RV seal tape and was wondering if I should go with that or foam. Thanks for the vid.

+Ramiro Estrada Thanks man! I appreciate it. The HIDs are from a local shop that rebrands them as their own so I'm not too sure. I've heard good things about Xenondepot for the HID kits.

Did exactly the same thing..I’ve changed the seal put a bigger one and as soon as i tight the screws the piece of shit just brake in two right where the screws are located.. cheap material..i bought some high quality led and put it in the original one.. 👍👍

Why has RAM not corrected this obvious issue. Almost seems like a right of passage that you have to experience a pond under your seat before you learn to fix the sub par gasket. Come on RAM!

Alex Bajo Go for it as long as you keep the water moving, I use light water pressure

+BigMan 95 Yeah it's safe to wash the engine, just make sure it's cold so the cold water doesn't shock anything and cause it to warp or crack. Also make sure you cover your alternator and air filter if it's exposed and don't spray directly at them.

Couldn’t you just take the seal that was around the OEM one ?? Since i have a 2017 and this issue is long as gone i guess I shouldn’t have any problem just swapping the seal ?!

Press your button for the cargo lamp on the inside it might be in the on position

You can get it at Home Depot, Lowes, Rona etc pretty much any home improvement store should have it.

Also they're HID's check out Xenondepot.com, they're got some killer HID kits for these trucks.
