I managed to misalign my rear derailleur while removing and replacing the rear wheel after washing my bike. I'm still not used to the whole through axle disc brake setup and how everything has to be millimeter perfect when going back on. After I put the wheel back on without stripping the threads on the axle or frame, the gears were skipping like crazy and all the clatter as well. I found this video, and managed to correct the problem. Thank you so much for sharing!

Now I also watch videos which I have little interest of as this one (having Ultegra R8000 at the moment), just because I like how you present informations. To sum up: you post a new video - I watch :) thank you and keep up the great work!

Great video, although It’s useful to mention what cog to start testing. I found it easier to start on the 2nd (from the smallest) cog, that way I know I’m making proper adjustments within the range limits. If after adjustments I can’t switch to the smallest cog then I know I went in the wrong direction.

Hi! I've been searching the internet for tips on the original RED eTap (non-AXS) for micro-adjustments. Wondering if you could answer a couple questions that I've still not found answers to! 1. How many micro-adjustments does eTap offer? In that, it shouldn't be possible for the micro-adjust to shift that many times (millimetres) to where it ends up shifting to the next gear up/down, right? 2. Does micro-adjusting the the RD from one cog affect the position of the RD for every other cog? Or can we micro-adjust the RD for each individual cog like Di2? 3. Is there any way to "hard reset" the RD so that any previous micro-adjustments are eliminated installing the RD? Appreciate any help in advance!

@@C-zt6ps one micro adjustment for all cogs, not individual. You can get it to shift gear with micro adjusts, kind of need to given how far out alignment can be. No way to reset as far as I’m aware. Hope that answer your questions :-)

Think of the limit screws as your mechanical fail-safe - they physically limit the derailleur from going beyond the boundaries of the cassette. This way no software/config issue can overshoot your chain. The new 12sp Shimano Ultegra-DA front derailleurs don’t have this (which can cause chain drops). The 105 Di2 front derailleur does have limit screws and is more reliable as a result IMO.

I’ve just been using my new orbea oiz ltd with xx1 axs, 10/52 cassete for like ten days… It’s been difficult to fine tune it… I had a problem when the chain got stuck two or three times… going up to the larger cog… The jockey pulley tangled and it was a mess… then we realized the hanger was bent (didn’t know if it was after the jamming or not)… but the micro adjustment you showed was the key… The derailleur was touching the larger cog when moving up from the second large up… Really fine tuning… This happened only when there was a higher load on the crank… Was really sad!!
