This was very interesting! I assume something very similar happened to my trusty old One S recently. It won't turn on after a power surge (lightning struck nearby). I ordered a replacement power supply unit and installed it but the console still won't turn on at all.

How do you know what is the lowest voltage rail on the board? Do you look up schematics?

If i test those mosfets in diode mode and get .005 on two and .000 on the third is that an indiction that the third one is bad?

Is this blown mosfet most likely due to the customer plugging the device straight into the wall? would this be rectified by using a fused power strip?

Most likely due to a power surge mate. Every plug in the UK has to be fused by law so that wouldn't help

Hi, what about an Xbox one X with no power but an good power supply ? Have you an advice to give? I already check and no short to ground in main power rail. Perhaps an chipset issue? Xbox just died during night....

Very likely the hdmi encoder mate, the encoder on the one x is a very common cause of no power so maybe try replacing that

Mine doesn't turn on but its funny cause i tested it and there is literally shorts everywhere but for some reason the ports work the console just doesn't turn on

It can be a number of things to be honest. A lot of the time it's either liquid damage or an issue with the ram or apu though
