For people who don’t know this already, The VAG (vw audi group) including Porsche and Seat uses the same 100 millimetre CV’s from the early 1970’s as my Baywindow bus’s CV’s looks identical to the Porsche one, even some Beatles with the IRS had them! So it should be available new for decades to come as it is commonly used

I remember rebuilding One for an accord. A bit different but once I took it apart I was like wow, pretty simple.

How do you know which side is broken, the one to the wheel or the one to the transmission? I replaced CV Axles on 2001 Saturn SL2 like 1 - 1.5 years ago, and now it started to give a slight clicking noise on sharp turns to the right (when you basically go on the circle in clockwise direction). When the car goes straight, no noise, so I think it is the left (DS) CV Axle. Maybe I moved it too much on installation, maybe just such aftermarket part (though it is Cordona, seems like no complaints about them). So, if I remove that CV Axle, can I find out somehow which side of it has a problem? Or it is better to take apart both ends? Thank you for the informative film.

This is random and I'm only asking in desperation lol. Had been watching you for over a year before I realized you live in my area. Anyways I have a 94 Miata that has been down for 2 years now over a wiring problem. It's bone stock. Would you want to look at it? Or know of a good local shop?

So funny enough, I just saw my cv is starting to go, and glad to know I can rebuild it instead of have to buy a new one every time

Thats all good and well if your CV looks like this. I've rebuilt a handful and I've never seen one like this. They usually have 3 dicks with bearings held on with circlips. You replace the failed bearing and the cup if the bad bearing gouged it out.

Splines need to be lubed, must pack the bearing with grease well, forget the boot, really! :)
