these are very helpful but sometimes I get a different response than expected, though I follow the steps. in this instance my stuff was on a C drive (there's also an X (boot partition?) and an E drive; C has the OS but it keeps looping the repair message. I previously tried your steps on the \srt\system 32 \logfiles\srt\srtTrail.txt repair, and as well, didn't get all the same replies but followed the CMD prompt instructions listed. > still: I do appreciate your teaching style and don't consider it a loss of time, because your instruction was good (just needed different help) Thank you & will keep trying..

@@colombageneharachristeenfe4706 **Thank you SO MUCH for a response on a video made quite a while ago; that means A LOT ** :) Instead of this: I took out the CMOS battery, (there was no CMOS switch & I didn't see the "jumpers") and swapped out the HDD with a new SSD & then loaded Win 11; it is working fine now. the previous HDD was not usable; I may try to wipe/reformat & use it as back up external storage (?)

I tried a lot of tutorials but it didn't work for me. Desperately, I tried to go to safe mode and then shutdown the laptop and opened it. Fortunately, it worked! So happy because my sister would kill me if didn't work😅

@giftgifted7652 This is what i did.. 1. Advanced options 2. troubleshoot 3. Advanced options 4. Start up settings 5. Restart 6. After I pressed restart, it went to startup settings. There were 9 options that appeared, and I chose enable safe mode and with command prompt (press #6) and my laptop restarted. when it opens, I'm in safe mode. what I did was shut it down properly and open it again. when I open it, it's back to normal. I'm not saying this is what you should do, but this is what I did, and it worked on my sister's laptop. I just shared with you and hope it works for you too.

your method actually worked for me. After i entered safe mode I went straight into control pannel and unistalled the app that i was suspicious of causing this problem.
