How to Fix Digital Scale Showing LO or BAT Status

See how you can fix the digital scale that is showing the LO or BAT status.
Does your Digital scale shows L0 message, then don't worry too much because you can fix it with a new battery.
This message usually indicates that your digital scale is running on low battery. So drop down to your local store and get the replacement battery. Before you go the shopping store make sure you bring along the old battery so that you can compare and buy the right one that fits with scale you have at home. Once a new battery is inserted you should now see the weight displaying instead of the LO or BAT status

I never got the Lo signal until my Scale just didn’t turn on one day and when I replaced the battery it comes up now as Lo

I just experienced the same problem: the display shows LO. I added new batteries and it still displays LO. So what I did was to reverse the polarity of the batteries (installing the batteries in the opposite direction), then I removed them and placed them in the correct position. It appears that doing so "reset" the scale and now it works perfectly. Good luck.

what about when the batteries aren't the problem? If the batteries are new and it still says L0?

Same problem happened.. I changed my battery, it didn't work.. The set of new batteries were 5 years old.. Then I replaced 2016 battery with 2025..It starts working.

Try taking the battery out and putting it back in, also there should be a small reset button. You will need a toothpick to push the reset button. Allow time for the scale to reset before stepping on it.

This issue is due to losse battery setup. Try to fix the battery tightly to resolve the issue. In my case I have placed metallic wire beneath the battery.

If the battery has been replaced and its still displaying LO perhaps the battery was placed on the wrong side.

Jonathan Josephs tip worked change the batteries and did not worked, the shorted both terminals at the same time and put batterie back on and started working again, I have a TAYLOR scale, so it has almost the same circuit

Hey folks, if the battery are new it's likely because it's not connecting properly, remove the battery and there should be a small fork underneath, this is the conductor, gently bend it up a little then put the battery back in and it should connect fine

When the symbol “Lo “appears, replace with a new set of batteries. Please replace all batteries at the same time. DO NOT combine old and new batteries.

What to do if the display shows LO but if you measure the battery it is still more than 3V ? And if you replace it by another complete new one (measured ans 3.2V) and the gauge still diplays LO after turning it on every time ?

I don't know if this is true or not, but usually, if the scale's screen gets slightly darker, the batteries are on the borderline, which is stage 1: the batteries having less than (I think) 20% remaining. Stage 2 is when it shows Lo (Approximately less than 5% remaining).
