Car will stop shifting randomly after the bushing fails leaving it stuck in gear.
This issue affects years 2013 2014 2015 and 2016 with six-speed automatic transmissions.

As a tow truck driver, I'd like to thank you humbly. This got me to the dealership when I was stuck in a parking spot , with my car stuck in park. It had been in drive, but I managed to get it into park. But I was stuck looking for a way out of there. You saved me hundreds, cannot thank you enough sir.

dude HOLY CRAP thank you. this just happened to me. i bought this 2016 dodge dark sxt sport from a dealer ship and ive had it for like 2 weeks and it wouldnt shift out of drive. i would of never known how to get it in park without this video man. THANK YOU

so you're turning that silver elbow shape- piece either clockwise or counter, like a crank? any resistance or it moves pretty freely once you twist?

Stuck in a community right now because my dart decided to do this while doing deliveries. Waited 2 hours so far for AAA. I see the piece you pointed out but it looks connected. Could the issue be in the shifter stick itself?

It should be connected, you need to toggle it to the correct one you want.

@@mayhamranch Update: 6 hours for AAA to show up. Car was running the whole time because it couldn't shut off in reverse. Good times. Had my mechanic come look when I had it back at my place. The issue was inside the car in the shifter bushing. It hardened and crumbled away causing the rod to pop right off.

I have this issue. 2016 Dodge Dart sxt blacktop. I called the dealership and they told me there is no recall. :/ Luckily I’m at work when this happened.. I can’t miss work. Lol 😂 I’m waiting for the dealership to call me back. My car is actually stuck in park…

The recall may be over, normally its within timeframe. It was fixed by them on ours free of charge.

@@mayhamranch well I had issues getting ahold of the dealer ship who I got my car from. They just actually suck in general. I called a different one, and the guy said it did have the recall but it looks like the dealership said they took care of it, but the guy said to get it towed and they will put a claim in for it and take care of it plus give me a loaner. So hopefully I get get out of work on time to get it taken care of today. But thank you for the video! Might have to use this when the tow people come to try and get it out of park.
