Did people forget these units have a reset switch on the front next to the sd card slot? It is so small it can be overlooked but if you find it, it is very similar to the mic hole but wont have "mic" written next to it.(some models have it next to usb port or the aux port) Just use a paperclip and hold it in for 3 seconds then press your power button(dont hold the power button just press it normally) it should reset and come on. Otherwise look for firmware updates and update it.

Another tip I have a different version but unplug the whole harness from the back of the radio then plug it back in and it should work

I just bought this unit brand new and installed and nothing completely black screen.

Push the reset button above the the aux input and below the usb port on the front of the radio.

Had this problem with my dual and honestly at the price point I kind of knew it was a little too good to be true. At any rate it started to happen more frequently. It seems to be a firmware issue and the unit needs to be rebooted. In order to not have to pull a fuse, or the battery cable, or undo the harness, I just pulled out the unit and installed an inline rocker switch on the 12v supply and now when it happens I click a switch and it resets with out all work of the other methods. Its not ideal but its better than buying a new unit. Plus it would happens so freaking randomly I just would say screw it and go with out a stereo for that trip. Trust it does work.

All the explaining being done I was thinking he must be going somewhere with all this. Then at the very end oh that’s right I fixed it by taking a cd out😂 there’s five minutes I’ll never get back.😂😂

The stereo really just needs reset I think it was coincidental that it happened to come back on when he hit it. Have had this problem with my stereo as well as my sons, both were dual touchscreens.

I have one without the DVD feature, and when I turn my headlights on, it shows no signal. I've already disconnected the orange dimmer wire but still shows no signal. What's a fix for this??

Hello from Middleburg Florida, I tryed to the reset button,/also tryed unplugged the harness like someone stated no availed. What else can I do the DVD has a disc in it when I turn the ignition on . The Dual player will not come on..same thing...ugh....

My Bluetooth will not connect. The light on the Bluetooth screen is just blinking when it worked before which was two days ago it was solid. I can’t figure out why it is not pairing with my phone. I have the device downloaded the stupid app for the screen or the deck I should say, but it’s still not pairing with my Bluetooth, any help would be greatly appreciated

Try putting a cd or movie in after you double check The wiring

or you could just hit the tiny reset button near the button on the top right. I had the same issue and it reset the whole system. Just gotta re program everything again..

When I first plugged it all in it didn't power up.. until I made sure everything was crimped tightly then I set it in place and screwed it in and it powered on.

my cheap Walmart duel touch screen will not stay on. Has no CD port. All wires and fuses are good. I have to disconnect the stereo and reconnect but it will only stay of for a few mins then black screen

Having similar problem with the Dual XVM279BT. It will work once hooked up, it might come back on a time or two after shutting down the motor and restarting, then dead. If I disconnect the harness and plug back in.. works again (for a while). All my wire connections look good, tested them by moving the unit around while hooked up and had no sound or video loss. Were you able to fix yours? If so, how?

Version022467 did you ever figure out what was wrong with your head unit or did you just replace it? I just bought this thing and it’s not working. What a piece of junk !

@@Clamjammer After checking all my connections, I couldn't find the problem. It's sitting in a box to be returned to Walmart. But it gets better... I then searched for another low cost HU and stumbled on a well rated unit from Jensen, and ordered it. When it arrived it had a Dual logo on it. Took it to a pro shop to install for me, they said it was risky as these Dual units only last 3 to 6 months. Had them install it anyway and it worked well for about 2 weeks and then went dark. Took it back to the shop and they tried replacing an inline fuse, and said this usually helps. It did for about another 2 weeks, and now the sound in the driver side rear speaker is only static. Checked my connections (all good) and next step is to hook up that speaker to another source.... These Dual HU's are for my son, his first car. I'm disappointed in myself for not spending more and angry with Dual for crappy products.
