How To Fix Dyson DC24 Suction Hose Wand Disassembly Vacuum Cleaner

Quick video showing how I fixed my DC24 Dyson vacuum cleaner's hose. I forgot to film the 'before' shot but it now seems to work simply by disassembling and reassembling for some reason! I hope this video helps someone else.

Thanks to your video, I was able to remove the bottom of the hose and I found a pretty bad pet-hair clog. Once I removed the clog and reassembled everything it worked like new again.👍

Thanks Andrew!! I got as far as 1:51 and found the problem ... mine had a tube of lip balm lodged in there!! (I was expecting to find a cat toy.) This was so much easier than figuring out the "picture book" instructions that came with the vacuum. Thanks again for posting.

Something else to check in case filter cleaning etc doesn't work - on the back of the hoover there's a spring-loaded trapdoor underneath the hose/wand section. It's open when the hoover is in normal use, and closes when the handle is removed, redirecting suction to the hose. If something gets lodged in there (a picture hook in my case), it can prevent the trapdoor from closing, and there will be no suction from the hose.
