Before you spend any money on a battery, try disconnecting it by taking the two screws out and then reconnect it. Fixes the issues most of the time.

just had an online chat with Dyson, re the red light flash 32 times and they are replacing battery free of charge even though it is about 12 months out of warranty. Pays to register products. Your vid was very helpful, thanks.

If the replacement battery works that good I will be buying one ty.

Dyson's air moving technology seems excellent. BUT their battery technology and their parts pricing is atrocious. A much better idea would be a detachable battery that could be charged on a separate charger, just as I do in my workshop for drills, saws, etc. I could then have as many spare batteries as I care to pay for. It is ridiculous that I can import a replacement battery for my V6 from China, through Aliexpress, for well under half the cost that Dyson want to charge me here (in New Zealand - but I notice this seems to apply to the UK as well). Dyson need to move with the times!

any follow up on if the aftermarket battery seemed to hold a charge longer ?i just had the flashing red light a couple times.smacked it and it worked again but i figured i may have to buy another as i love this little vacuum.glad its it an easy fix and thank you for posting this as a new vacuum would cost me a few hundred and even though i'd like to upgrade i'm a cheap bastard.

Had mine, 2 years and 2 months, used only few times a week for stairs , small rug and sofa, few days ago red light 32 times flashing came up and that’s 2 months after the warranty runs out so Dyson won’t replace . Wouldn’t recommend their products to anyone. Thanks for the video 👍🏻

Thanks for the video. Quick note: it’s not true that you need to drain lithium batteries. In fact, they last the longest (lifespan of the battery in years) if you keep them within something like 40% to 60% of a full charge.

My battery blinks red when in the Dyson but flashes blue when on the charger, also I took the battery out and the trigger flashes blue then green only red when in Dyson, is it still a battery problem or a Dyson machine itself?

what does it mean when the light blinks 10 times?

On my Dyson V6, the battery flashes red !! but sometimes it kicks off and the led is blue, if I release the trigger, then press it again, it still works well! if I leave it inactive for too long (+/- 30 sec) it flashes red again! and trying a few times it reboots correctly, every time like this i have a hard time knowing if the problem is with the battery (maybe BMS) or if it's the motor. In your opinion?
