Wow, I'm gobsmacked by the amount of support this video has received. Thanks guys, hope this worked for all of you. If this didn't work, try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to allow the ECU to reset itself. After you reconnect it, things should be all good. If your windows don't go up automatically anymore or you have any other issues, it'll fix itself in time. The ECU will relearn these things and all will be normal again soon!

Okay, this may sound dumb, but I'm going to share. A lot has been going wrong in life and it's been stressful beyond what I can take. I was driving home from work and remembered there is a church hidden in a little neighborhood, so I decided to go. It's closed due to covid, so I parked in the parking lot and cried and prayed. I was going to leave and I just wanted to listen to music on my way home, but my Bluetooth has been iffy. I tried and tried connecting and nothing. Normally this would just be annoying, but with how I have been feeling, I got pissed. I googled how to fix it and nothing worked. Then I came across this video and decide to give it a try. It took some effort, but when I was done, I closed the panel and said, "God, even a small victory will help me so much, please" and the I tired it ... and the sync button didn't work anymore. 😒 But then I turned off the car again and tried again and it works! I know this is silly, but it made me smile. So thank you for this video.

My wife's Fiesta 2015 (65) plate bluetooth just stopped working all together, even though it was paired. Initially did a master reset that did not work, deleted her phone from the bluetooth car settings. With engine off I removed the fuse and put it back in, started the car and was able to pair and connect an iPhone. Brilliant!!. Thank you so much for going the trouble of making this video. Bless your little cotton socks!!

Hi Lewisrowezer. Many thanks for your very handy tip restoring SYNC on my Ford ecosport. You were the only one from a cluster of videos that not only made it easy (at least to try) but reminded ME that with anything electronic these days you just have to RESET it! I have a Lincoln MKX, and I follow your tutorial, I was able to enable the SYNC phone button and connect it to my phone via Bluetooth. Again, THANK YOU. Now, how about fixing the driver and passenger speakers in my truck? 2 years ago, they just starting whistling out of the blue. and they kind of remained quite ever since.

Thank you so much!! My 2011 Fusion started doing this out of the blue last week, and after trying various resets etc. on Sync, your advice regarding the fuse was what got it working again. I will note that the fuse box on the 2011 Fusion was pretty awkward to access (underneath the steering wheel, to the left). Cheers for taking the time to share your knowledge.

My problem was that my mobile would connect to my car but the audio wouldn't play through the car speakers. Instead, the music came out through my mobile but I could see the song title on the digital display in the car. I've just done exactly as described in this video and everything is working perfectly now. Spent ages trying to find a solution, and this one did the trick

This worked for me on my 2015 C-Max. Fuse box lay out is slightly different though. Doesn’t specify Bluetooth in manual so pulled 4 glove compartment fuses and it worked, bingo!.. For any C-Max users , Bluetooth is assigned to one of the following 4 fuses : 67, 79, 81, 85. Thanks for the video. Legend

Fantastic! I sat like a fool, for an hour, trying to pair my phone, with no success. I read the online Ford manual and sat like a fool (again) going through their door-opening/closing, waiting, routine, with no success. Your remedy worked perfectly. Thank you. I'm looking forward to seeing if the radio's other flakiness is also fixed (tracks on USB stick sometimes looping + steering wheel back/forward buttons erratic).

Worked like a charm! I disconnected sync from my iPhone once because it had a delay with music changing and when I tried reconnecting, Sync stopped showing up on my phone. This method brang it perfectly back and now works again!

My wife had been blaming me for her phone not working fully with the steering wheel controls, after I'd washed the car!! Took out fuse #24 for a minute, and it's working now. Thanks Mate

I've got a Sync 1.1 with AppLink in our 2014 C-Max and we couldn't connect any of our existing Bluetooth devices any longer. After watching the video, I decided to check it out myself. My fuse box was not labeled like in the video, but I found the culprit anyhow. The fuse was in slot 81 and is labeled as Innenraum-Bewegungssensor, HF-Empfänger, Sonnenrollos (engl. inner room movement sensor, HF-Receiver, sun shades). The Bluetooth issue is gone. The wife is happy. Thanks a lot.

I just tried this after doing everything the manual said several times with no luck. I took it to the dealer and they told me I needed a software update and it would cost about $200. It worked, Thanks!!

I haven't tried this yet but this is the suggestion for the Ford BMax....: Remove fuse 24 from the glovebox fuse box. Start the car for 3 minutes. Stop the car. Install fuse. Start the car. Wait 3 minutes for SYNC to reinitialize. Well I tried this and it actually worked........HOORAY !!

so awesome! worked on a 2012 ford flex too! it took a while for SYNC to boot after powering back on. Because of this long boot, I can now assume that it must be an always on/always ready computer that doesnt reboot ever. The benefit of always on would be that SYNC is instantly ready when you power on the car. The downside is that no screen setting or reset can fix it, thus resorting to your fuse pull. Awesome stuff. Thank you sir for your help with this. Some things drive you nuts and every auto generated document out there is worthless.

Thanks! You are a star for posting this! 2015 Ford Focus SE Bluetooth kept saying "Initializing BT. Please try again". I pulled fuse related to Bluetooth (F67 on my car, but check your manual), waited 5 min. Put back in and phone sync'd perfect. Dealership wanted to do a "software update" for $$$. FYI - neither the factory SYNC reset or manufacture reset worked. Just your solution solved the issue. Hopefully it won't be re-occurring. Thanks again.

Thank you so much. My Bluetooth stopped working about a month ago and no amount of resets made it work. Now that I have found the right fuse, all is well. One note is that the fuse in my Ford Transit Connect was the one labeled SYNC.

Yep - pulling the fuse solved same issue for me on my Kuga. I had a situation after several years of ownership where my phone could stream audio over Bluetooth but refused to connect as a phone. Whenever I started the car I got a "Phone disconnected" alert. My wife's phone would connect fine when we had that in the car, so it seemed it was just my phone. I deleted all devices from the BT menu, and found that my phone refused to delete. I tried the Master Reset in the Sync menu, but still couldn't delete. So in the end I followed the advice in this video, pulled fuse #67 in the Kuga, saw the unit re-initialise, then was able to delete the phone from the system, deleted SYNC from phone and then paired it all up again. Now all OK. Thanks Frosty

This fix genuinely works, much like everyone else on here I had tried everything, contacting Ford to be told £180 for them to have a look at. Awesome, it worked at the first try! My BT stopped working many times but after a few days or a week it used to star work again. This time after a month I followed the instruction and once turned the Fiesta on, everything was ok again. Thank you really much dude!

Thanks for the guide. Fixed the same issue with my Kuga today. Grate idea (instead of disconnecting the main battery and get sides effects). The tip for Kuga owners: you'll need a torx screwdriver to remove the glove box.

Thank you so much! This worked for my Ford Fiesta 2009. My phone was connected, but the music wasnt able to play. I had to Google the fuse box diagram and was able to figure out it was fuse 21 in the passenger fuse box (for anyone else that has the same car).

Thanks for this! I've had numerous issues with SYNC disconnecting from my phone over the last two years since I got my Fiesta. Usually, a reset from the menu or deleting and repairing my phone solves it. However, this time nothing I tried would allow the phone to stay connected for more than a second. Until I reseated the fuse, that is. Thanks a million for this video!

Thank you, sorted things out thank god. For anyone who this isn’t working for, it didn’t work the first time for me so I tried again, took the fuse out, turned the engine and everything on for a minute, then turned everything off and replaced the fuse. Then turn engine back on and go to aux, should pause for a few seconds then work! Fingers crossed for everyone
