In this video i am going to demonstrate how you can take out and test your Honda Civic fuel guage. you can follow this procedure for both checking the reserve or low fuel light connection and even if your car is not showing accurate levels cleaning it can help you out.

At 12:10 When you said the "reserve light" should be on is not true. The reserve light should be on immediately when you turn the key on no matter where you move the float. The thermistor doesn't care about where the fuel level is to show the reserve light. It only cares about being submerged in a liquid. We knew as soon as you turn the key ON that the low fuel thermistor sensor is ruined because it didn't light up. Do you know what I mean? It is possible to have a full fuel tank meter and still have the low fuel reserve light on because the sensor is out of the fuel tank so the thermistor isn't inside a liquid. The fuel level depends on the float position. The reserve light depends on the thermistor submerging in fuel.

Yes but later when thermistor was changed the case was different it got turned on only when the guage was moved to end position because thermistor ciruit only completes when it is at end position. Yes on the other hand you are right that at just ignition it should be on no matter how much fuel is in the tank
