How to fix iPad thats not charging or turning on after battery drain. Solution 2021 100% fix
If your iPad is charged and still not able to turn on, then you need to take a few extra measures in order to restart it. One of the easiest solution to fix the iPad won’t turn on problem is by restarting it. You can force restart your iPad by providing the correct key combinations.
To force restart your iPad, press the Power button (located at the top right corner in most of the devices) and the Home button at the same time. Make sure that you press both the buttons simultaneously. Keep pressing them for at least 10 seconds till your iPad would vibrate and display an Apple logo on the screen. This will force restart your iPad and resolve the power cycle issue that you would be facing.

Its the same problem i faced. Just let the battery drain fully the try charging it for 3-4 hours and try the same trick i showed. It should work. This takes a lot of tries but it should work. Also check your charger and cable for any damage, if you suspect any damage just try using another one. Sorry for late reply.

as u say its dead for a year , i suggest you take it to a apple store and ask them to check. if its a minor issue then they will fix it. if there was some sort of visual on display i would have been able to help.
