This is what I'm worried my problem is. Bc I tried my brothers joycons on my switch and even his wouldn't connect. I'm afraid to spend all that money on new ones and have them still not work. I've had this problem for a very long time now and the only way I can play in handheld mode is to remove to joycons altogether and use a regular Nintendo controller (its not a pro controller but it works) I have to sit the switch up on its kickstand and play like that. It's not the same though, i really miss playing it the normal handheld way. Maybe I should just save up and buy a new Switch, since the battery life also sucks on mine. I've had this one so long I worry that Nintendo wouldn't even be able to help. I love the Switch so much, but I have been having so many issues with this one. If I hadn't been in such a rush to play BOTW I wish I had just waited to buy the Switch until the latest model was released. I can try this fix, but even if it did work I would still have to fix the joysticks. Not sure any of it is even worth it at this point. I dont know what to do.

William&Rebecca Winkler so I bought new joycons and it’s still not working like yours. The thing is when i plug in the left joycon in it doesn’t work or charge. It says it’s still in handheld mode and not connecting or charging. How are you getting the joy con to charge? i might just have to buy a charging dock

@@AdrianGarcia-qd1hs I have the same problem but they charge on the switch in the dock just fine, its only when its in handheld mode that it stops connecting and doesn't work. I have 4 joy cons and all of them have the same problem handheld so it has to be the system.
