You are welcome. I find that devices that use that particular X2 capacitor tend to fail prematurely. I hope the video is clear enough for you to fix your fan. Cheers!

@@fuzzy34r Yes it's clear enough and I managed to fix it. Opening the casing to access the pcb was challenging. Would've been helpful if you had included the steps for it in the video. Nevertheless thanks once again for making the video. Cheers!

Thanks for the compliment. If your fan switches off randomly, the capacitor is likely the issue.

Hmm… its a generic polypropylene capacitor. It is not necessary to get the part number from the manufacturer. I don’t have the part number as well. Mine was around 1uF.

Hi there, thanks for uploading this video. I followed the instructions to remove all the screws and take off the fan leaves, but have problem trying to pry open the case in order to get access to the board. Can you provide some more information on how to pry open the case? The fan model number is KDK ST30H. Thank you so much.

I no longer have that fan with me. It was returned to a friend after the repair. I believe it is quite straightforward to open the case, however, you need to ensure that all screws are removed before it can be opened. Some screws are not so obvious. All the best.

there are internal locks holding the case together, u need to hit the case at specific points to unlock them.
