My laptop can't change the custom lockscreen, when it is changed it will only load continuously and eventually it doesn't change at all. Do you understand and can help this problem? I've been looking for ways everywhere but can't find it

I'm not trying this with Spotlight, I'm trying to use a file on my computer as the background and my computer will sit there for ages and not change the background.

I've been having the same issue and I don't know if your issue has been resolved; but, in case it hasn't... check your Background Apps settings. Go to Settings - then Privacy - then Background Apps - then toggle "Let apps run in the background" to on. I did this and my Windows Spotlight appears to be working properly now. You can, then, toggle individuals apps to off if you prefer. Hope this helps!

I cannot delete the settings.dat in setting folder. Everytime i close the windows it's pop back up, so spotlight wallpaper still stuck 🤔

Didn't work for me. Deleted both files in that folder. Went to lock screen settings. Clicked on a new image, and it just continues to spin, freezing the settings window.

Nothing else worked for me besides this video!!! I did similar things so many times but when I deleted the stuff in the settings folder then restarted using the msconfig disable all method, it worked!!! My computer has finally arrived haha.

For all those who're wondering about the procedure at 1:24, that's known as Clean Boot. Microsoft suggests to do it while experiencing software conflicts or errors. And the procedure given in this video was suggested to me by the Microsoft team when I contacted them to solve this issue.
