How to Fix Media test failure, Check cable | No Bootable Device (Complete Tutorial)
Hi guys, here I showed up on this video how to fix media test failure, check cable and no bootable device problem.
If your desktop computer or laptop fails to boot and gives the error message such as, PXE-E61: media test failure, check cable or PXE-M0F: exiting PXE rom, no bootable device-insert boot disk and press any key, then this indicates that, a problem with your pc's PXE, I mean pre-boot execution environment.
There are several reasons that could cause this to happen. The most common caused by a failing hard drive and most often when the bios settings are incorrectly configured, and when the boot device I mean the internal hard drive of a pc, that cannot be read perfectly.
However, don’t panic, this video will help you to fix media test failure and no bootable device problem.

Thank you so much! I almost took my laptop to a technician and before that I am already disfiguring it, I just can't take it away... Oh my God. O followed every steps in other videos and nothing work. And the thing that saved me is you saying you can change legacy to uefi and vice versa. I kept using legacy. It turns out it will work at uefi(correct mw if I'm wrong) thank you so much. Like really!

Thank you so much. After watching about 20 different videos on youtube, at last i got my laptop okay. I click and click everything. But i just disabled my Network boot, and stayed at UEFI. Thanks though. 👍 Edit.: my laptop went No Bootable Device again. What should i do?

Well it works thanks and the other way is inserting a windows bootable flash drive and boot to drive if it is windows 8-10 first when it shows languge and the other things press next then press on repair next teroubbleshooter finaly automatic repair and it will come as dignosing your pc and when it restarts it might work

Sometimes a Hard Disk that pulled out from the source might just be the problem. In that case all you need to do is to unscrew the HDD cover and pull the HDD back in and your problem is solved.

Can you please help. I don't understand his English well and I don't understand anything about computers either. I managed to get the laptop to have the screen with the menu or set up utility. Looks symilar to his screen. Where do I press to get started please, which option. I hear Bios but where is that option. Thank you and I apologise for such ignorance.

@@anamanoel1732 Hi, Bios normally opens up with a Function key. Each brand has this setup on different key. i suggest google your brand name with model no followed by "function key". alternatively you can try pressing F1 to F12 at the time of boot and see if it open up bios setting. There you will find this option to change from legacy to UEFI

@@syedarham7931 thank you so much. Mine is a Toshiba Satelite R830 and the key is f2. I changed the boot options and none of them worked and I can't find sny options to change from legacy to UEFI. Could that be under a different name? I don't understand about computers, only use them. I dont really know what else to try. I watched every video on the same errors but mine doesn't work. There are options I don't see in my computer . I changed the driver but nothing changed. I get the same messages. I read somewhere that taking the little batery and put it back on could work, I don't even know where that batery is. Thanks anyway.

My own method is based on pressing f2 key, and going to legacy, then restarting pc, then go f2 and select “reset to the default settings” and repeat. After few tries my pc started working.

Hi! I cannot find my first question to you and your answer. I read it few days ago but I couldn't do right away your suggestion. The problem of my laptop is that, I can only boot windows installed in the hard drive if the installation CD is inserted in the optical drive. After removing the installation CD and restarting the laptop, this shows up " media test failure, check cable and no bootable device ". Your suggested that after removing the windows installation CD, I will go to BIOS and make sure that the first boot device is set to the primary hard drive. In the bIOS of my laptop, there are 3 choices in the boot menu: 1. Windows Boot Manager, 2. CD/DVD Drive, and 3. Network: Realtek PXE B03 D00. I think the Windows boot manager is the first priority, however, same problem is coming out... Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I had replaced the hard drive and sata cable. No matter what I do it still says no boot device 3f0. I try to boot from the hard drive, network adaptor, legacy, defaults. Etc. And it still says no boot device found.

I broke the blue ribbon on cable that connects HDD to mother board, after some tries, i managed to connect cable and stick that blue ribbon with cable so that it connects better. After some tries it turned on.
