WARNING! Attempt at your own risk! This video is not a solution for all bearing fitment issues as every situation and circumstance is different for everyone. So take this tutorial, guide, etc with a grain of salt.
What got me to really take a closer look at this issue was due to many people posting on forums and FB about quality control on certain yoyo brands or other issues such as vibe for example.
I can make a video about this discussion if you like, but I'm just going to cover bearing fitment issues. I bought a few yoyos that I encountered this in the last few months and I had to return one where I was surprised that it occurred as it's from a brand that has never let me down. I then saw a post on FB recently about someone stripping the thread of the yoyo...which is pretty catastrophic and usually means it is damage beyond or requires extensive repair. When this issue happened to me again, it made me wonder what would cause this, so instead of returning the yoyo, I dug deeper to figure it out.
I've concluded that most metal (aluminum, bimetal, etc) yoyos I've purchased get machined which means there will always have tolerances since it is part of the manufacturing process. I eventually pin pointed this common issue to be the seat where the bearing rests on.
I hope you like this video or find it informative. As mentioned be cautious as this can potentially ruin your yoyo. if you have any comments or question please let me know.
