Greetings. I want to lock my computer in Windows XP with Virtualbox because Windows XP was the magnum opus of Windows and also nostalgia and funnies. I followed the instructions here to a T. I got the driver on my windows XP, installed it, reset, tried to go on a page.. and nothing happened, I got the error again. What did I do wrong?

i got bluescreened when i tried your folder sharing method. skip it and just enable drag and drop.

Did you ever figure it out? I have an old compaq computer that has windows xp home on it and when i click the download link - MEGA I get page can not be displayed. Never downloads nothing.

I have a problem! I do everything you say i should do in the video. Download the adapter and set it up. But i still get page cannot be displayed. Virtualbox sometimes says that ''cable is disconnected''. I can't do anything on Windows xp besides search on Bing. Please help me i need it so badly!

@@itzelm2556 If you're still wondering, it's probably because of the https security thing and how websites are starting to change. If you use an old version of firefox your web browser won't be able to properly access new and updated websites. There're still lots of websites out there that can be visited though, just not YT, Reddit, Twitter etc.

It is absolutely hopeless, 1: goes like a rocket, too fast to follow 2: Can't see/read video clearly , so no quite sure what to do next. Like you've said in the introduction, should have done it again. On the other hand although didn't get much at all out of your tutorial I do appreciate the time invested and also can see others having had positive outcome.

I recommend just enabling drag'n'drop in the settings for the machine, that way you can just drag the file onto the desktop Settings>General>Advanced: Drag'n'Drop: Bidirectional

If I put the link in the address bar I get the page cannot be displayed message. If I put the link in the google search field it comes up with "Download Link - MEGA", but when I click to download it sends me to another "Page cannot be displayed" message. Can you help me?

@@FunniMafaka This desktop computer was bought new, but it's set over at my parents' house for years without being used. I brought it up to my house after my mom passed away and my daughter is wanting to use it. The only problem is, I can't update it or browse the internet. When I try to browse with internet explorer it comes up with "Page Can Not Be Displayed." I can't update it through windows update because they don't update windows xp anymore. So, I've got a computer that's new because it's hardly been used but can't do anything with it. I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could help me with this.

it didn't work for me.. but because i had drag and drop enabled, I just download the latest firefox version that is supported on windows xp and drag and drop the installer into the virtual machine. p.s. don't bother trying chrome as it just wouldn't let you browse the web either, it deems that your time and date is not accurate therefore can't connect(the time and date is correct though)

Get a USB drive that has a chrome installer, plug it in your windows xp laptop/pc. And you're done!

@@derpy_drg2459 Open the Windows explorer on your Windows XP and then click on Folders on the top bar. Next, click on My Network Places-Entire-Network-VirtualBox-Shared Folders. Thats it.

@@BarryRecords 2:36 in Windows explorer you have a bar at the top. you have some options as back and forward, the up arrow, search and "Folders" option. You click in "Folders" so the sidebar can be shown. Then follow the rest of the instructions in my comment above.
