run computer mangement as admin if that doesent work re insert the drive and restart your computer if that doesent work your windows 32 files may be corrupted which leads to a blue screen of death or saying please repair your pc.

So this happened: I used etcher and installed a Linux distro onto my thumb drive. Etcher automatically partitioned it into 2 parts and then I was denied access to the non-UEFI partition. So I just used cmd's "clean" function followed by "convert MBR". The previous time I did the same thing Windows asked me to format it and windows formatted it. but this time it showed the exact same error. After following the steps in this video I was stuck again as this time it said: "unsupported file system" which isn't true because I had already used "convert MBR" previously. Any thoughts on this?

Okay, I fixed it. My bad man, I forgot "create partition primary". Leaving this comment, as might help someone else who is just as stupid (considering that this actually awesome video has 32 dislikes). XD also, I think that the same can be achieved through cmd directly making the process easier.

when I try and format it says "there is no disk in drive z, insert a disk, and try again" also, when im on computer management, i left click the thing, then right click, but when i do it just pops up a change letter, a eject, a properties, and a help. thats all also also, in the computer management, below removable, it says no media.

Do not format at first, Follow the same process from where you go to manage reallocate another letter to your USB drive once is done unplug your flash and plug it back you have your files back I just tried that and it worked for me.

Watched this video, but when I get to the 'Format' part and yours says 'Unknown capacity' on mine i get the error message 'Theres no disk in drive U:. and asked to insert disk. Is my USB stick dead?

It's possible but usually the last forever and it could be another issue with yours, there are several issues sometimes with these, try going into the computer management and see if it at least shows up in there. or you can try one of my other videos to fully clean it and then try and intialize it, I know that sounds crazy but that might be your issue so here is the link to my other video - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mK6hecR7y9bamX0.html

me too, i tried this with my 120GB Hard drive and it worked. but when i tried it with my USB Flash Drive, the unallocated box didn't appear. it seems like the usb is corrupted, sadly i don't think that it can be fixed. so I lost my Usb Flash drive. I know what you are going through and sadly we can't fix this problem.

This video was really easy to follow. However, I do have files on my harddrive I don't want deleted, so my problem persists, sadly. I can't seem to find anything that helps me accessing my harddrive. Yeah it’s because it’s a 2 TB drive it probably needs formatted for GPT partition but it’s a common issues so not a big deal you should be able to get it sorted out

@@jamiewagner adding on, I do know the exact reason why this happened. I was trying to install a game, come 9 hours later of me installing it I had to shut the computer down. The game wouldn’t stop installing so I just forced it off

This is a longshot, but did you ever make a video about how to conduct this operation without deleting the data? My drive suddenly started generating this error (no physical damage that I can see), and I can't afford to lose the files. Thanks Jamie!!!

Great question Joe and yes I was going to make a video about it, I just have not done that yet, and yes you can try other things to get it to show back up and repair it with out deleting the data that's already on it, several people have commented about that exact issue, the thing is it might take some different methods combined in addition to using linux to get it back, I just haven't had time yet to dig into it, but hopefully in the future here I can get a video done that will work for everyone for this issue, until you are able to figure it out, I would just save that USB drive and wait and I would buy a new one and just use the new one so you can hold on to the old one until you come across a fix for it or unless I can get a video uploaded for it

My sdcard doesnt even allow me to create a volume. It doesent give an error, but after creating it, it doesent show up. I tried it in linux, but there it just errors out. I think my sd card might be very dead.

You should test your hard drive and make sure it’s okay. It could be different issues do you know what kind of hard drive do you have?

i can't format USB Drive because the USB say a error message *there no disk in drive F insert disk and try a gain* can you fix this ?

I'm also facing exactly the same problem you explained here in this video. But for me when I go to Disc Management I don't see unallocated space. Any solution to get my thumb drive back? What caused this issue in my case? This happened when I was copying one file and in middle, copying failed and when I replugged the thumb drive-in the above problem started happening.

yes I believe because you didn't properly eject the thumb drive before removing it, which cause it to corrupt the file system, it don't always happen but sometimes that will happen and can cause this issue in your case, if you read about it you should properly eject your USB drive before just pulling it out from the computer, I do this as well sometimes I just pull mine out from the computer without doing it the correct way, eventually I'm probably gonna cause myself the issue 😂😂😂

Man when I right click on removable disk in disk management I don't have a option like new volume. It only shows "change letter,path" and preoperties option?
